<br />Regular Council Meeting <br />5/15/89 <br />Page 3 <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Amendola said that the Board met and granted a <br />set back variance for a detached garage. <br />Cemetery - Mrso Cinco said that a sexton (Len Strath) for the cemetery <br />was hired and that they received flowers from the Mayfield Women's <br />Club. She said they are waiting for nice weather to meet to walk the <br />area to see what needs to be done this year. <br />Commission on Aging - Mrs. Mills said that their Anniversary Party will <br />be held on June 3 from 1-4 p.m. in the Community Room. She said that <br />anyone over 60 years old can attend free as long as they have a <br />reservation. <br />Finance - Mr. Flynn said the Committee met tonight and are anxiously <br />awaiting the budget. . <br />Mayor Carmen said they should have the budget by the end of this week. <br />Mr. Flynn reported that the following items were discussed at the <br />meeting under "New Business". <br />1) They would like to refer Ordinance 89-14 regarding an employee <br />of the Finance Dept. to the next Council Caucus. <br />2) They recommend passage of the ordinance regarding the community <br />room. <br />3) The rate of pay needs to be established for Ordinance 89-18. <br />Mayor Carmen said this matter will be discussed on Wednesday. <br />4) The letter from the Finance Director to Council regarding any <br />action (final judgments)--we are free and clear. <br />5) Resurfacing of Bonnieview and a portion of the bike path - <br />Northern Ohio Paving was the lowest and best bid and approval is <br />recommended by the Village Engineer. The total amount including <br />engineering fees is $36,390.74. The Finance Committee recommends <br />approval of this tonight (to pass in title) or recommends that it be <br />considered at the meeting tomorrow. <br />Finance Report - "Old Business" <br />1) Financial planning was discussed based on the Burgess and Niple <br />storm drainage study and the committee will get back to Council. <br />2) 1989 budget--Mayor Carmen said that he will have it for us <br />shortly. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mrs. Cinco said there were no report. <br />Historical Society - Mrs. Cinco said she thinks they deserve <br />congratulations for reaching their $5,000 mark. Their drive was very <br />successful. She said the Garden Club also deserves congratulations for <br />their Arbor Day celebration. Mrs. Cinco urged everyone to attend the <br />Flea Market on May 20 at Mayfield Heights Community Center and to <br />participate in the various fund-raisers. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mrs. Cinco announced the times that photo I.D_.s for the <br />Mayfield High School facility are being taken and gave the schedule for <br />the field house and pool.
