r?J '? <br />Special Council Meeting <br />5/16/89 <br />Page 2 <br />First ReadinQ of Resolution No. 89-33, entitled; "A RESOLUTION <br />DECLARING NORTHERN OHIO PAVING COMPANY TO BE THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER <br />FOR THE RESURFACING OF BONNIEVIEW DRIVE AND PORTIONS OF THE S.O.M. <br />CENTER BIKEWAY WITHIN THE MUNICIPALITY, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND <br />PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH NORTHERN OHIO PAVING <br />COMPANY IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THIRTY-THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED <br />EIGHTY-SIX DOLLARS ($33,386.00), REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and Council as a <br />Whole. <br />Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Rinker, made a motion to suspend the rules <br />of Council requiring a resolution to be read on three separate <br />occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Rinker, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to adopt Resolution <br />No. 89-33. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Resolution Adopted <br />Settlement of LaConte Lawsuit <br />Mr. Ramos said that he must apologize to Council--that he felt they <br />could discuss the settlement today but that it may be premature to <br />discuss this since we don't have all our ducks in a row. Mr. Ramos <br />said that as soon as he has all the information available, Council will <br />be able to discuss it. He said that he is waiting to hear from them <br />and has not received anything yet but hopes to be able to provide an <br />update soon. <br />Sealing of parking lots at Village Hall and Service Dept. <br />Mr. Ramos said that informal bids may be received when the expenditure <br />is between $2,500 and $5,000 as long as 3 written proposals are <br />received. <br />Only one written proposal had been received for the sealing work, so it <br />will not be considered until two other written proposals are received. <br />Asphalting of New Service Road <br />Mr. Amendola said that he had received 3 written proposals for the <br />asphalting of the new service road. <br />M & M Asphalt Company $3,250 <br />Carr Asphalt Paving Company $ <br />Surface Engineering $6,800
