He said the Village would
initially be purchasing 12 signs. There are 9 actual locations for the
signs, so this would give us 3 extra.
Irene Lazzaro, 286 S.O.M. Center Road, asked if we were allowed to
change zoning laws to accommodate others (pertaining to the LaConte
property.)
Mayor Carmen said zoning can be changed by two ways only, by referendum 1?1Mr. -
or by an order from the Court.
Phil Lazzaro, 286 S.O.M. Center Road, asked if Mayor Carmen felt he
was given a true story about the income from the golf course. Also,
regarding the bike path, on two occasions he has seen motor bikes and
horseback riders on the path. He said that something should be put up
and that the path is not being policed properly.
A brief discussion was held regarding the bike path.
Dino Marino, 6807 Bramblewood Lane, said if the Village has a sewage
problem now, won't the problem be enhanced by development of that
property.
Mayor Carmen said that whoever builds on the property must put in their
own waste facility.
Marilyn Goldstein, in the audience, asked Mayor Carmen to explain the
emminent domain process.
Mayor Carmen said that before emminent domain can be considered, an
appraisal of the land is given. If a property owner has a bonified
offer for purchase of their property the way the property is presently
zoned, that figure is considered to be the value of the property. He
explained how property can be taken by emminent domain.
Mr. Ramos will provide a report to Council regarding this matter.
Irene Lazzaro said she hopes Council will put a taboo on apartments.
