???o
Regular Council Meeting
11/20/89
Page 10
Mr. Basile asked what they could do.
Mr. Hovancsek said one option is to cut the curb to get farther from
the property line or to consider screening the drive apron. Mr.
Hovancsek said he will discuss these options with Mr. Amendola when he
returns.
State Yard Storage Bin - Mr. Ramos said that he contacted Mr. Billings
who said they are under special regulations and can do what they want.
He has not produced the special regulations.
Mayor Carmen said to tell him that the structure must come down and
he should come up with new plans and come in to talk to us by Nonday.
6" Street Drain at Worton Park Drive - Mr. Hovancsek said they shot
grades. He explained the problem. Mr. Hovancsek said that he
recommends that we notify the property owner that it be regraded so the
water could be sheet-flowed toward the rear property.
Employee of the Week - Emplo_yee Incentive Program - Mayor Carmen said
that he and Council have implemented a merit award program. Each week
on Friday the 4 deparments will nominate an individual as employee of
the week. Winners will be selected on a rotating basis between he and
Council. The winner each week will receive two tickets to a Cleveland
Cavaliers game. The Department Head will also receive tickets. Mayor
Carmen said that Department Heads must get in their nominations by
Friday each week and asked Donna to drop them a reminder. He said that
Cheryl Garinger won tickets the first week.
1990 Committee Appointments - Mayor Carmen asked Council to let him
know if they have any questions or concerns about any of his committee
appointments. He plans to re-appoint all members whose terms will
expire this year.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Summers - Mr. Basile said that he got a call from Mr.
and Mrs. Summers asking to be placed on the agenda. He asked if they
were in the audience.
Mr. Bob Summers said that the area.was surveyed the Wednesday after the
last meeting. They gave them the opinion that what was there should
not have been there. Mr. Hovancsek came up with some reconunendations
for the owners. He said the owner supposedly did not get the
recommendations; the contractor did. The contractor did not take care
of the total -situation. He said that Mr. Pietrafese came out to look
at the problem that occurred after the hard rain last Wednesday. He
said the problem did get worked out. The owners have put down straw
along the line to keep the mud from coming onto their lot. Mr. Summers
said they know they are going to have water. They have had water for
30 some years but they are not willing to have muddy water. His only
hope is that the party next door can be persuaded by,, the codes and
ordinances in effect, if somebody will enforce them, that they should
do a proper job.
