<br />Regular Council Meeting <br />11/20/89 <br />Page 4 <br />Safet and Service - Mrs. Mills said the new truck was tested by <br />Underwriters Laboratories and approved. They discussed turnout gear <br />and requested that Engine bll be placed for bids. Mr. Hovancsek is to <br />inspect the bike path along SOM and advise if any corrections are <br />possible. <br />Mr. Basile said he would like to amend the agenda to indicate "second" <br />reading of Ordinance No. 89-42 rather than third and to remove "First <br />Reading of Ordinance No. 89-46" which is a duplicate of Ordinance No. <br />89-42. An amendment to Resolution 89-78 must be made because <br />International Salt Company has changed their name to Akzo Salt Inc. <br />Mrs. Mills seconded the motion to amend the agenda accordingly. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Agenda Amended <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Recycling - Mr. Ramos said there is a resolution on the agenda. Tlie <br />contract was only authorized to 7-31-91 because Waste Management's <br />contract for rubbish removal expires at that time. <br />Beech Hill Pump Station - rir. Ramos said a pre-trial will be held <br />tomorrow. He said that he discussed the financial aspect of the <br />settlement with an attorney from Squire, Sanders, and Dempsey. He will <br />have more to report tomorrow. <br />Fisher's Tavern - Mr. Ramos said he does riot think anything has <br />happened since what happened two weeks ago. The information was sent <br />to Dr. Faulkner. <br />Ditching - North Side of Highland - Mr. Hovancsek said he has <br />communicated with Forest City. They have received a price to do the <br />work ($18,939.05). Some of this would be paid by the property owners <br />in Mayfield Village other than themselves. Mr. Hovancsek recommended <br />that no action be taken at this time. He explained that if the <br />residents are assessed for half it must be handled by the Village. <br />Mr. Flynn asked if we could ask them to get competitive bids. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said not if they wish to pay for the work themselves. If <br />we are going to assess the residents it would be up to the Village to <br />obtain bids. The Village would also assess them for their share (they <br />own approximately 50% of the property affected.) <br />Mr. Basile asked that this item be taken back to Caucus. <br />Storm Run-Off Detention Basins Mr. Hovancsek said he recommended the <br />legislation (Ordinance No. 89-49) be referred to Committee. It should <br />be discussed at length because it is complex. <br />Hole at S.O.M. Center & White Road - Mr. Basile asked if the Village <br />could hire someone to patch the hole in the road.
