72 <br />Regulaz Council Meeting <br />5/18/92 <br />Page Six <br />New base portable radio for the Police Department. <br />Expenditure of $4100.00 for band concerts in the Gazebo. <br />Informal discussion was held concerning the police ballistic vests. <br />Discussion was held on the fund for a new municipal center. They aze asking the Finance Director <br />to beef it up from time to time. <br />A brief review on the Finance Director's notes were given. Mr. Flynn left it up to Mr. Toth to give <br />a report on these. <br />? <br />Street lighting assessments - Mr. Flynn asked the Village Engineer to submit the proper <br />paperwork. <br />Mr. Toth said that when developments come in, the Engineer's expenses aze paid and the <br />developer is billed for these expenses. His concern is that other expenses like legal fees, boards <br />and commissions incurred by the Village are not being chazged to the developer. <br />Historical Society: Mrs. Cinco reported on the Annual Arbor Day Ceremony held on Apri124. <br />Over 100 people came in spite of the inclement weather. Work is progressing in the North wing <br />and foyer. On May 13 a new core of officers were sworn in: <br />President: Pat Ivegrelli <br />Vice-President: Patsy Mills <br />The Historical Society is having three fund raisers this year. September 9 is the Ice Cream Social, <br />October 9-11 is the Book Show and November 21 is the Turkey Raffle. <br />M.A.R.C.: No report at this time. <br />Ordinance Review: Mr. Rinker stated a meeting will be held Wednesday, May 20, 1992 at 6:30 <br />p.m. Bring any Ordinance Review items you wish to discuss. <br />Planning and Zoning: Mr. Basile reported on the meeting of May 4. Nothing was on the <br />agenda. General discussions were held on the Mayf'ield United Methodist Church's plan to expand <br />their parking lot. They must submit landscape plans and their intended use of the parsonage. <br />Progressive Construction is going slow as they have run into solid rock. <br />Fisher's Taverns' deck is built <br />Recreation: Mr. Fixler reported on the playground equipment. The low bid is $9,982.00. <br />Installation, if necessary, is an additional $2,958.00. T'hey will have discussion about the Service <br />Department installing it. This figure does not include freight. <br />lYIr. Rinker verified with the Law Director that unique purchases can be made without public bid. <br />He asked that further discussion be held until later in the meeting.
