Rinker said that a couple of questions were <br />gaised last week about a couple of the specifications for the police officer exaxn. <br />Mr. Ferrante said the specifications have been put out and 50 applicants have applied. <br />Mrs. Cinco said everything is done. Mr. Rinker said it is done but that does not mean it is not worth public comment. . <br />Mr. Ferrante said his question was why the physical agility part of the examination was eliminated. <br />Mayor Pietrafese said Mr. Ferrante brought these concerns to him last week. He contacted the <br />Civil Service Commission and they gave him some valid reasons why they eliminated the agility <br />test and limited it to 50 applicants. He said he wanted the concerns expressed Mr. Ferrante to be <br />addressed by the Civil Service Commission. 1Vlayor Pietrafese said we will be reviewing and <br />scrutinizing the test and there may be some changes in the future. <br />Mr. Ferrante said he would like to request the person or people we accept be required to go for a <br />complete, thorough physical which includes a stress test, heart examination, and everything. <br />Mayor Pietrafese said that is still in effect. <br />Chief Stevens said a medical physical is required by State law. We can make it as detailed as we <br />want. . <br />Mr. Ferrante said he requests that we have that included. <br />Mr. Rinker asked who made the specifications. <br />, Mayor Pietrafese we must accept their decision in the specifications. <br />Mr. Flynn said he would like to know what they base their judgment on and asked if the removal <br />of the physical agility test was passed by the Law Director. <br />Mr. Rinker said this Commission is empowered with certain rights. We can not tell them what to <br />do. Mr. Diemert said they did not ask him about the agility test. <br /> <br />Mayor Pietrafese said they are using an examination firm and have consulted with them and other <br />Civil Service Commissions. <br />Mrs. Cinco asked if they take what they make up and post it without someone looking at it first. <br />Mr. Rinker said they have that right. <br />
