220 <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />12/21/92 <br />Page Four <br />Planning and Zoning - Mr. Basile said the Commission met December 7. There was nothing for <br />their agenda. There are some items for the December 17 workshop including a 10' lot split from <br />the School Board, a request by Dr. LoPresri for a building, D.O. Summers wants to buy the old <br />Marathon gas station property--but there is still contamination in the ground. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said he recommends that the Village obtain a copy of the site assessment by the <br />EPA prior to issuing any major plan approval because they may limit some of the use. <br />Mr. Rinker asked the procedure. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said a representative from Marathon told him he will send a letter with some of <br />the requirements. He thinks it is significant to start with EPA before Planning and Zoning <br />reviews the plans. <br />Mr. Diemert said if Mr. Hovancsek provides him with a copy of the report he will outline the <br />procedures for rezoning for Planning and Zoning and Council. They should share the <br />informarion with the prospective purchaser and see- if they are interested in pursuing the matter. <br />Mr. Diemert suggested Mr. Hovancsek ask Marathon to tax the information. <br />Mr. Basile said Mr. LoPresti is planning to build a 2300 square foot building ag 6593 Wilson <br />r <br />Mills Road. <br />Recrearion - Mr. Fixler reported the Craft Show was a fabulous success. The men's winter basketball league will start 7anuary 17. <br />Safety and Service - Mrs. Cinco said the Committee met December 7. The main attraction was a <br />slide presentation of the fire truck. They touched upon station cleaning, and the H.V.A.C. <br />system. <br />Report from Community Relations Coordinator - Mr. Phillips distributed a summary report to <br />Mayor Pietrafese and Council. The summary listed the four programs that were conducted since <br />he began his position as Community Relations Coordinator: <br />1. Financial Planning (Lawrence Barrett) . <br />2. Waste Composting (Gus Amendola) <br />3. Breathing and Bleeding (Chief David Mohr) <br />4. Stress and Tension (Marilyn Davies, PH.D.) <br />Mr. Phillips reported total attendance at the programs was just over 140 residents (averaging <br />approximately 35 residents per sess.) Total cost per program was approximately $8 for <br />cookies and coffee for attendees. Mr. Phillips said attendees completed a critique after the <br />program which could include recommendations for programs to be held in 1993. He read the <br />list of suggested programs. Mr. Phillips said in addition to the four programs (listed above), a <br />four-hour interpersonal/community relations program was offered to police and fire personnel. <br />Mr. Phillips said it was his pleasure to be of service to the Village. - <br />Mr. Fenante asked for a breakdown of attendance per meeting. <br />fiilrr. Phillips said about 90 people attended the seminar conducted by Mr. Amendola and stated <br />the approximate number of people who attended the other meetings. '-
