Page 7 <br />~~~ <br />Mr. Clifford Gordon, 6197 S. Woodlane Dr., asked if_ there is an <br />ordinance covering a minimum standard regarding up-keep of property <br />in the Village. If there is none, it would be desirable. <br />Mr. An?endola stated there is a weed ordinance and if a violation <br />is reported to his Department, he will no tify the resident of the <br />violation. <br />Mrs. Victoria Brocker, S. Woodland Dr. would like to be brought <br />up-to-date on the increase in burgularies. <br />Sgt. Smith stated they have several suspects that they fell are <br />doing the burglaries in the adjacent communities as well but have <br />no concrete evidence. They of course will continue to investi-gate. <br />Mrs. Brocker asked.i.f these have patterns? Sgt. Smith stated there <br />have not been enough to determine that as yet. khe last burglary <br />was sometime between 8A.M. and 11 A.M. Mrs. Brocker said it's getting <br />so bad that she is afraid to f~eave her house any more. ~'ir. Bennett <br />said he knows the feeling, he just had new dead locks put on his <br />home. Sglt. Smith commented .a letter had gone out from the Police <br />Department asking the residents to be watchful of their neighbor's <br />homes and report any strange vehicles or people in the area. <br />Mr. Carmen stated that the Kenwood Homeowner's Association had a <br />meeting last month and Sgt. Jay gave a very excellent preseritati~n <br />ion ways to prevent burglary. <br />Mr. Amendola commented that the resident's are apparently reporting <br />strange vehicles as someone reported him when he was waiting in his <br />car for a resident to s'how':°.pp a.or•.::~n::~appo~~merat. <br />Sgt. Jay stated arrangements have been made with Kredo Hardware for <br />a 10% discount on locks if the resident drops by the Police Dept. <br />for -a verification on this work. <br />Mr. Hovancsek stated he would like permission to do the work on <br />lighting assessment for three years as this work should be done <br />as soon as possible. Council questioned the amount of monies <br />this would involve and Mr. Hovancsek replied approximately $300:00. <br />Chief Stevens complimented the Safety- Comm~,ttee on .the ,fast work <br />that was done on the Sergeant's Appointment. .: 1. <br />Mrs. Hanus commented that work should begin about the middle of <br />June for the planning of the Community Building® <br />Mr. Flynn asked for an up-date of the Wilson Mills Eastvao~k. A <br />catch basin is broken and very hazardous. <br />Mr. Hovancsek stated the concrete companies, truckers and <br />operators are on strike and there is little the::Courity can do. <br />Mayor Beebe stated Mr. Stackhouse had called him and stated the <br />strike had been s ttled and the work should be started again by <br />Thursday or Friday. He would check to see if this takes place. <br />
