'~' ~.. <br />Mayor Beebe stated the Chief of Police will no`s proceed with a <br />mailing to the residents. Several companies have already been <br />in contact with the Chief. <br />Beta Sidewalks - Mr. Hovancsek stated that the project has <br />already started with the private contracts. Council should be <br />awarding the remaining portion to the low bidder, Calabrese <br />Cement Company. Because of the private contracts, the performance <br />bond will be less than stated in the specs. <br />Mr. Bennett questioned if the 30 day time limit has expired. <br />Mr. Hovancsek replied it would be up in a few days and in order <br />to hold the bid it would be wise to award the contract this <br />evening effective 30 days from the bid due date. Most of the <br />private contracts were with Calabrese. <br />Mr. Bennett stated that since the contractor is already on the <br />site it would be wise to proceed and pass the legislation in title <br />only with the Law Department to prepare the o?~dinance. <br />Ordinance 80-39, entitled: "AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AWARDING A <br />CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS ON BETA DRIVE TO ALDO <br />CALABRESE CEMENT COMPANY; AND DECLARING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID:" <br />Introduced by Council as a Whole. <br />Mr. Carmen, seconded by Mr. Flynn, made a motion to suspend the <br />rules of law requiring an~~ordinance to be read on three separate <br />occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: •All <br />'NAYS' None Motion Carried, <br />Rules Suspended <br />Council agreed that this work is not to exceed $49,397.00. <br />Nlr.
