~~~' <br />Introduced by Council as a Whole. <br />Mr. Hovancsek stated the bids were opened on Friday, July 18, 1980 <br />and they ranged from $49,000 to $59,000„ The low bid being $49,143.50 <br />submitted by the Northern Ohio Paving Company. He talked to Mr. <br />Walter Edwards, contractor for this project, and he assured completion <br />of the project by the middle of August. Therefore, it is his <br />recommendation the cor..tract be awarded to the Northern .Ohio Paving <br />Company. _, <br />Mayor Beebe urged Council to award the contract for the $49,143.50 <br />as it included the paving of the parking lot. He would like assurance <br />that the job ~*culd be complete for ~T_illage Days, if not, it would be <br />better. to postpone completion.lzntil after the festivities. <br />Mr. Hovancsek assured Council the jor would be completed as i~t is a <br />very simply=_ job due to the work already done by the Service Department. <br />This company is eager to please as there are ether projects pending <br />that they are interested in.`~doing. <br />Mr. Flynn questioned the specifications. <br />Mr. Hovancsek commented 4e' of asphalt would be on top of the base <br />already prepared by King Excavating and the Service Department. The <br />parking lot wo~a.ld have 3" as no heavy equipment would be permitted to <br />~~.se it. <br />Mr. Bennett questioned who would be inspecting the work and Mr. <br />Hovancsek stated he would have an inspector on the :j.ob as that is <br />the only way they Dave of controlling the material going in. <br />Mr. Flynn, seconded by Miss Trask, made a motion to suspend the rules <br />of law requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. <br />Roll Call;; AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Mot~_on Carried <br />~2ules Suspended <br />Miss Trask, seconded by Mr. Carmen, made a motion to pass Ordinance <br />80-51. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Passed <br />Ordinance 80-52, entitled: "AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR AND FINANCE DIRECTOR TO ENTER INTO A COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH <br />THE CUYAHOGA COTJNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE UTILIZATION OF <br />DUNDS MADE AVAILABLE BY THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACTS OF <br />1974 AND 1977, AS AMENDED."
