? <br />Police Car Bids - After a brief discussion,. Council authorized <br />Eloise-Maynard to advertise for bids for two-po•lice cruisers. <br />(The;;specs-should be changed to read two.) Council agreed the <br />bid would not mention trade-ins. <br />Paris Rezoninq Proposal - Mr. Feneli stated that Mr. Paris had <br />made a rezoning request to the Planning & Zoning Commission, and <br />they had rejected the request. <br />Mr. Avery arrived at this time (approximately 9:20 P.M.). He <br />continued the explanation of the Paris matter, stating that he <br />felt this ordinance has merit for the Village. He stated if <br />Council would introduce the ordinance then it would be referred <br />to the Planning and Zoning Commission for their input, and-then <br />would come back to Council. - <br /> <br />Further discussion was held and Council to table this discussion <br />until all facts have-been received, as Mr. Avery stated this is <br />a matter of possible li.tigati.onv <br />CLOSING COMMENTS Mr. Hovancsek - stated he had attended a meeting with the Depart- <br />ment of Transportation. He reported th at the bridge over I-271 will <br />be fixed this year. Work is to begin shortly, the Police Department <br />to be notified two weeks before. Traffic will be restricted to <br />one-lane and temporary traffic signals will be installed. Mr. Feneli - stated that regarding the Cortright litigation, it <br />was filed that the Village be-dismissed from the lawsuit;'and he <br />expects to have an answer within 30 - 45 days. <br />Mr. Feneli stated that he had contacted the Representative from <br />the Worker's Compensation Service Company, regarding the contract <br />terms for them to represent Mayfield Village in Worker's Compensation <br />hearings. He stated they would review our current rec.ords of the <br />Industrial Commission pertaining to claims filed against Mayfield <br />Village (exactly what the Village is paying as opposed to other <br />Villages), at no charge, for presentation to Council. (They would <br />perform this service free of charge even if we choose not to hire <br />their services.) Mr. Feneli had a form to be signed by the Mayor <br />which would authorize them to prepare their presentation. Council <br />agreed to this and Mayor Beebe signed the form. <br />Chief Stevens - questioned the status of the new minimum jail <br />standards of the State of Ohio. <br />Mr. Feneli explained that these standards were to be phased in <br />over a,three year period starting on July 3, 1978, and that April <br />lst, 1981 was meant to be the phase in date.
