Regular CouncillVleeting <br />September 15,1997 <br />Page 3 <br />Council President Fixler had no comments. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS ` <br />Mr. Diemert said we would like a motion of Council tonight to approve Nextel connecting to the <br />Fire Department's tower facility. That is contrary to the previous agreement we had. In <br />exchange they will add on $200/ month and 4 phones every year during the term of the <br />agreement. <br />Chief Mohr said the Fire Department would prefer to have Nextel out of-the basement. <br />Mr. Diemert said Council approval is needed to modify the agreement. We are still negotiating <br />with them but they need to move quickly because things are happening over there. They have an <br />agreement with Council already. They would like permission to modify it to let them use tha.t <br />building for purposes of their equipment for whatever additional compensation the administration <br />can garner. <br />Council President Fixler asked Mr. Diemert to work out the wording for the motion while <br />Council is in Executive Session. <br />Chief Mohr said from a technical aspect, it will be easier if they move into the spare room in the <br />back. That way they can vacate the basement and come and go as they please. As their <br />equipment needs replaced, it will be much easier to take it out of the back room than to take it up <br />and downrthe stairwell. <br />STANDING COMMTTEE REPORTS <br />Activities Committee - Mayor Rinker said he could not attend the last meeting and asked Miss <br />Heath to report. <br />Miss Heath said members tallced to Ralph Vitale and Jean Fernandez from IZecreation at their last <br />meeting. Thcy are thinking about having an additional Halloween Party. They are thinking about <br />holding a Halloween event at the Service Buiiding. They will be discussing that with the <br />Recreation Board this Wednesday night and will let us know if they want to go forward with- <br />plans for a special event. The next function will be the Tree Lighting Ceremony: December 14. <br />The Activities Committee will not meet in October unless the Recreation Board holds this event. <br />Architectural Review Board - N1r. Samac said they met June 11. They approved one new home <br />for a Ridgebury property.
