Regular Council Meeting <br />Septembex 15,1997 <br />Page 4 <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Samac said they met August 19. They heard two cases: one invalved the <br />setback for a shed which was granted; the other invoived a side yard setback to ena.ble the <br />residents to build a two-car attached garage to an existing house. <br />Cemeterv - Dr. Parker had no report. <br />Citizen's Advisory Board - Mrs. Cinco said the Committee has not met for a while. She asked if a <br />meeting is scheduled this month. <br />Mr.lViarquardt checked his copy of the calendar and confirmed they are on the calendar for <br />September. <br />Niiss Heath wi7l send a-reminder of the meeting to the committee members. <br />COT17t11iS510I1 OII Ag1}l? - MT. Susa read the Feport frvm Hwnan Services Director. (A copy is <br />attached to the minutes_) <br />Safetv and Service - Mrs. Cineo said they met September 2na. Chief Mohr luought to their <br />attention they need to develop a long-terxn (20+ year) schedule for the Fire Department. The <br />radios for the Detective Bureau were discussed. There is a safety issue for the detectives when <br />#hey are operating in Cleueland. The Committee recommends purchase of a portable unit with a battery. This item is on tonight's agenda. They also requested an inventory of the presently- <br />owned radios. Three Crown Victoria police vehicles are for sale; Miss Heath will a.dvertise for <br />bids. They alsv discussed the cracksealing program (on tonight's agenda.) <br />Finance Committee - 1Vfr. Marquardt said they met this evening. They discussed 10 items: <br />1} Cracksealing - The committee recommends approval of $5,850 - They weren't sure where the <br />$8,200 on the agenda came from; <br />2) Resolution 97-15 re Tssue II fund applications-They recommend approval; <br />3) Ordhmce 97-35 re notes for Parkview Golf Course; <br />4) Hillcrest area radio network--cost to repair equipment in the amaunt of $9,355 to B&C <br />Eamrnunications. It will be split among the 8 communities-we will only be paying a portion. <br />5) Imminent expenditures ta replace part of the police radio netwark #hrough SPAN- <br />approximately $11,000 <br />6) Proposed Fire Prevention Qfficer and Service Department employees; tbose wil1 come up in <br />later discussion <br />7) Digital police radios; the Committee recommends appraval. <br />$) The 1999 Fire Truck needs a radiat&%ecore at a eost of $4,500. This item is not on the <br />agenda tonight; we might want to aad;d it. <br />9) Survey Work - The Committee recommends approvai af an amount not to exceW $6,500 and <br />for a delineation study not to exceed $20,000.
