Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council
6/12/00
Page 3
Council President Marquardt advised that we have a motion for reconsideration of aSpecial Use
Permit granted to Hilmed. Council President Marquardt said there was some concern due to the
nature of this particular Special Use Permit, that there might be interest in reconsideration.
Council President Marquardt asked Mr. Diemert to explain the process here.
Mr. Diemert advised according to Roberts Rules of Order, the motion for reconsideration would
not be the appropriate method. According to Roberts Rules, which this Council has adopted as
its procedural format and your Codified Ordinances and your Administrative Portion,
reconsideration of an adopted motion needs be brought up at the same meeting so his opinion
was it would be more appropriate to call this a motion to repeal or rescind the prior Special Use
Permit granted. That would probably be the more appropriate way to consider it. This would
put it back on the table if Council so desired.
Council President Marquardt opened the floor for anyone who would like to make a motion for
repealing the Special Use Permit granted to Hihned.
Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Ilacqua made the motion.
Mr. Samac advised that the proper name is not Hilmed. It was a Special Use Permit to allow the
doctor offices, not Hilmed. The proper term should be Panzica Realty request. It was a Special
Use Permit to change it from office/warehouse distribution to medical. This would be for 731
Beta Drive.
Council President Marquardt asked for the motion again, for 731 Beta Drive, and not the term
Hilmed.
Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Ilacqua made the motion.
Council President Marquardt opened the motion for discussion.
Mr. Buckholtz wanted clarification of what voting yes would mean and what voting no would
mean.
Council President Marquardt advised that voting yes would repeal the Special Use Permit for
medical office use at 731 Beta Drive. Voting no would keep that in place.
Roll Call: AYES: Mr. Busa, Mr. Ilacqua, Mr. Marquardt, Dr. Parker
NAYS: Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Mills
Council President Marquardt asked Mr. Diemert what the proper procedure was now.
