Regular Council Meeting
6-19-00
Page 4
would hold up the move because the furniture order will be placed and delivery time is four to
five weeks. Mr. Ilacqua then advised that both himself and Mr. Buckholtz did have a chance to
look over the list and it did look in line and they did not want to hold up the police from moving
into the modular building so he recommends approval of that item. Item # 7 was approved; Item
# 8 was approved. Item # 9 - Mr. Ilacqua said this item was essentially a wash with Coke as they
have already received the check from them, the proceeds will cover this expenditure and this
item was approved; Item # 10 was approved as amended to read, not to exceed $ 6,500.00. Mr.
Ilacqua further advised that two items were added to the Finance Agenda; both were release of
retainages per the direction of our Finance Director Mr. Brett. One was to Cook Paving in the
amount of $ 2,700.00; they did the work for the sidewalks on Wilson Mills. That item was
approved. Another was to Linward Electric in the amount of $ 8,200.00; they did the
signalization in the N/W quadrant; that item was approved as well. The final item was
discussion of Parkview Playground with a change order of a net $ 2,630.00 to Landscape by
Design. The project for the playground had an $ 8,000.00 allocation set aside that was a
contingency amount. The Committee approved this item to be paid to go ahead and move
forward with the installation of the playground.
Hillcrest Council of Councils -Mrs. Cinco said there was no report.
Historical Society -Mrs. Mills said that the teacher's platform in the one room school house is
being worked on at the present time. Lyndhurst Lumber has donated many antique tools for the
display board in the basement. A garden wedding was held at the Historical House on May 26,
2000 with Mayor Rinker presiding.
M.A.R.C. -Mrs. Cinco said M.A.R.C. met on June 1, 2000; at that time, Mr. Farmer, Mr.
Phillips and Mr. McMahn were there to discuss the establishment of the youth ice hockey
program. Finalization and more information will be coming at the next meeting on July 6, 2000.
Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Ilacqua said they have no report as they did not meet.
Planning and Zoning -Mrs. Mills said Planning and Zoning met on June 5, 2000 and they again
talked about the use of archery equipment and they also had a very lengthy discussion about
zoning recommendations for Beta Drive and surrounding areas. Mrs. Mills was wondering if
Mr. Marquardt could, as Council President, make arrangements for Council as a Whole and
Planning and Zoning to meet to get together for some initial discussions in the very near present
future. Mr. Marquardt said he would take it under advisement.
Recreation Board - Mr. Buckholtz said the Recreation Board will meet this coming Wednesday
for the last time this summer and will take the annual tour of Parkview Pool, the playground and
the wetlands and continue discussing future plans for development.
Sewer Liaison Committee - Mr. Buckholtz said there was no report.
