Regular Council Meeting 7-17-00 Page 4 Citizen's Advisory Board -Mrs. Cinco said there was no report. Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa read the report from Eunice Kalina, Human Services Director. Safety and Service -Mrs. Cinco said Safety and Service met this evening and all items were discussed during the Caucus. She will write up the minutes and have them for the packets this weekend. Finance Committee - Dr. Parker said the Committee met this evening and discussed a number of issues. (Some were discussed at Caucus.) We would approve Item #1 unless there was any objection. We discussed item 2. We suggested we go to bid on the improvements to the Community Room (item #3.) We were mixed on item #7. While we would like to see some assessment of the impact of these programs and how their response is, we agree we need to send something out. Whether it is adjusted down according to Council, that would be your prerogative. We approved items item #8, 9, 10,11 and 12. We discussed Grace Software very briefly (item #4.) I think that would probably be open to discussion with Council. We left the wage ordinance and police contract open to Council for Executive Session (items 5 & 6 respectively.) We felt we needed to go ahead with approval of these items tonight. Hillcrest Council of Councils -Mrs. Cinco said there was no meeting; report. Historical Society -Mrs. Mills said the teachers platform has been completed in the one- room schoolhouse. The room will be outfitted with old-fashioned school desks and benches for the main room. Other finish work is being completed within the room. There will be a garden wedding at the Historic House on July 29. The annual Ice Cream Social will be held on September 13 at 6:30 at the pavilion. The bi-annual Quilt Show will be held on October 13,14 and 15 in the Community Room. If you have any quilts to display, please call Pat Negrelli, Patsy Mills or Nancy Plastine. M.A.R.C. -Mrs. Cinco said M.A.R.C. a full committee met on July 6~'. They discussed the initiation of the ice hockey that will be started this Fall for Kindergarten through 2nd graders. Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Ilacqua said there was no report. Planning and Zoning -Mrs. Mills said we met this evening and are requesting to table Ordinance No. 2000-18 until Planning and Zoning can look at it one more time. Planning and Zoning will meet on August 17. We will be inviting the property owners in the Beta/SOM area to talk to us about the problems they may have, if any, with their rental situations.
