Regular Council Meeting Minutes
8-21-00
Page 3
Safety and Service -Mrs. Cinco said the Committee met this evening. They approved
the senior snow removal program and the security fire alarm system needed for the
police modular building. They discussed future manpower needs for the Fire
Department. Mrs. Cinco said Chief Mohr said we need to take a short long-term look at
the need for increased manpower. There was an article in the paper today that said 34%
of the first 150 days of this year Hillcrest Hospital was closed. They are expecting more
closures in the future which means our ambulance runs are quite a distance further.
This is an item Council, Safety and Service and Finance needs to look at. The other
items discussed and approved (on the Service Department's list) were removal of trees
in the right-of-way for $3,200 and emergency repair of the catch basin.
Finance Committee - Mr. Ilacqua said the Committee met this evening. Many of the property owners:were invited for input on possible
changes. We also discussed the changes suggested per tile. archery ordinance. Planning
and Zoning wanted him to advise that they were not adverse to holding up the archery
ordinance as re-submitted before Council. The ordinance was exactly what they were
looking for and they would have no problems if Council chooses to pass it.
Recreation Board - Dr. Parker said Mr. Buckholtz is not present.
Mr. Thomas said the Recreation Board did not meet in August.
