Regular Council Meeting 10-16-00 Page 5 , Cable Review Committee - Mr. Ilacqua said for Mr. Diemert to correct him if he was wrong--but we were awaiting the final contracts. Mr. Diemert said the final contracts have been in; they had left out some things; the contracts are being redrafted. Mrs. Cinco asked when Adelphia takes over. Mr. Diemert said they did; October 1~. Mr. Ilacqua said he believes they were negotiating with 55 communities; it will not interrupt service at all. S.O.M. Center Road Widening Committee - Mr. Ilacqua. said there was no report. OLD BUSINESS • OPTICOM - (Motion/amount as recommended by Finance Committee) Dr. Parker clarified the amount recommended by the Finance Committee: $54,615.00. Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Buckholtz, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of $54,615.00 to Signal Service Company for the purchase of Opticom equipment. Mrs. Mills asked if this will exclude Lander Road. Dr. Parker said after thorough discussion with the Chief, we decided at this time the traffic flow was such that it wasn't critical to our services and since that intersection needs a lot of work, we didn't want to put the money into the Opticom system there and then have to have the lighting re- worked and things redone. We thought we could hold off on that. We are hoping Highland Heights will budget for this in their 2001 budget. Then we could do that intersection at a later time. Mrs. Cinco said the Safety and Service Committee has discussed this and agreed it is probably a good idea to wait until we can do the whole intersection. Mr. Buckholtz said it isn't as traveled an intersection but it is as critical an area as any. We would like to do that area but the entire system is in disrepair and it makes sense to do it all at one time. We would be going ahead with Lander Road when the time would be right to do so. Council President Marquardt asked if there were any other comments. There were no comments.
