Regular Council Meeting Minutes
11-17-08
Page 6
Citizen's Advisory Board - Mr. Marrie reported that they will be meeting tomorrow night.
Commission on Aging - Mrs. Kalina reported that they met on November 4th and talked about
their programs and assessed them. Their next meeting is December 2°d. On the agenda this
evening for vote is the Silver Alert which was started by Twinsburg to alert communities of
seniors who are missing.
Drainage & Infrastructure/Stormwater Mgt. - There was no meeting. There is no report.
Safety and Service - Mrs. Cinco reported that Safety and Service met on the 3?d. At that time
they left the oil and gas well discussion to P&Z. They are meeting this Thursday. Safety and
Service also discussed the EMS billing, the road salt and the rubbish recycling contract.
Finance Committee - Mrs. Mills reported that the Finance Committee met this evening. They
had 15 items on the agenda. Some of the things were not discussed, Ordinance 2008-25 and
2008-26 and Ordinances 2008-39 through 2008-42. We would like to clarify something on the
item regarding Bremec's Greenhouse for the purchase of trees for the underpass. We would like
it to say "Highland Road underpass" for better clarification. We are deferring any action on the
Eagle Creek proposal until there is a meeting. Joe will take care of that. The rest of the items
were all approved.
Historical Society - Mrs. Mills reported that they just finished quilting one raffle quilt. They are
putting the next raffle quilt on for 2010. Their last meeting was a week ago Wednesday.
Everyone missed a good night. It was pie night. Wonderful pies. Their guest speaker was Marge
Comella, one of their historical members and also a Village resident. She spoke on first ladies.
Mrs. Mills told the Mayor he would have enjoyed it. It was really a good program. She is a very
good speaker. She is an ex-history teacher. They are going to have her back again because she
only got through half of the Presidents' wives.
Hillcrest Council of Councils - There was nothing to report.
1VI.A.R.C. - Dr. Parker reported that M.A.R.C. met on November 6th. Of note was that the
M.A.R.C. Art Show did come down. Interestingly, it is the only art show in the Mayfield
branch. The next meeting is December 4tn
Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt reported that Ordinance Review met on
Tuesday the l lt . There are four proposed ordinances on the agenda tonight. Ordinance Review
recommends those go three readings. John is reviewing all the Codes and bringing them up to
date and pulling out the various fees and insurance charges and bonds and consolidating them
into tables. You will see a lot of these coming out and we will be presenting them as they get
reviewed and updated. These are just the first four. Mayor Rinker asked if this has any bearing
on what Walter Drane is doing. We do that on auto pilot each year. Should we be changing that
at all? Mrs. Mills said if we are going to do the three readings, it would go into 2009. Mr.
Maizelli replied that right now there are probably 2 dozen ordinances that need to be looked at.
Some of them have not been used in 30 years. Mayor Rinker asked how much Walter Drane has
