Organizational Meeting Minutes
1-5-04
Page 4
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2004-01.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion.
Chief Dearden said this is just a housekeeping issue with the revisions that were made to the State
Code and because of the fact that our Codifier has provided us with the addendums, we can go
ahead and start using the local Ordinance on citations in the Village immediately.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted
ANY OTHER MATTER TI3AT MAY COME BEFORE COUNCIL
Mayor Rinker said we will have some refreshments momentarily. It is nice to see family
members here. I know you generally tend to stay away and it's probably with good reason but
I've got to point out that I have my inother and father-in-law and my wife Laura sitting back
[there] and it's nice to have the moral support tonight but I can only tell everyone--and I am sure
everyone here on Council agrees we all have our stories to tell, but without our family support it
would be a very difficult and challenging job indeed. He thanked them for being here tonight.
Mayor Rinker noted the new venue--the Mayfield United Methodist Church-we are going to be
here for the month of January because we are finally making some much-needed repairs to the
Community Room which is barely ADA compliant. As a public facility, it is challenging to say
the least for us to take advantage of the resources that we have. The congregation of this Church
(we are told) plans to move out-and we're told now the first of April-no foolin'-and it has
been a long time coming. I think it was the fall of 1996 that we first learned that this Church was
planning to move from its present location-they had gone through a pretty extensive study.
Again, as I say, it is kind of a momentous year because this is somewhat symbolic that we are
here tonight but over time one the of the challenges we are looking to do is to see how to utilize
the space that we have now, that we have purchased and put it to best use for the public.
Mayor Rinker said so again, we are glad you are all here tonight. We will have some co`ffee and
refreshments in a inoment. I think there is one other order of business that Council needs to
address.
I I
?

Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any other matters for this meeting.
