Regular Council Minutes <br />3-15-04 <br />Page 14 <br />Mrs. Mills said we are requesting first reading on this. <br />Resolution No. 2004-08 was given first reading. <br />OPEN PORTION - 3-minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state <br />their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion pertaining to the items under <br />"New Business" only. <br />There were no comments. <br />ANY OTHER MATTER THAT MAY COME BEFORE COUNCIL <br />Council President Buckholtz said a question for either Mr. Metzung or Mr. Samac on the <br />freezing gas lines in the Worton Park area. I don't know if it has happened in other parts of the <br />Village or something that we've run into before. <br />Mr. Samac said it has happened before in the Worton Park before. I believe it was on Norman- <br />a few years back where some excess condensation water formed in the lines and froze--blocking <br />the gas line itself. I wasn't aware that we had a recent freeze. Where was it? <br />Council President Buckholtz said Woodlane and Mayor Rinker said between Norman and South <br />Woodlane. <br />Mr. Samac said where the gas line goes under some of the creeks, I've just recently seen what <br />appears to be a moisture trap. The trap provides access to remove the water and try to eliminate <br />freezing within the gas line. Quite frankly, I wasn't aware that this occurred recently. <br />Mr. Metzung said I'd seen your [addressing Council President Buckholtz] email. <br />Council President Buckholtz suggested Ralph Vara be a spokesperson. <br />Mayor Rinker said you should have some kind of report from East Ohio Gas. <br />Council President Buckholtz questioned if this was an appropriate item for discussion by <br />Drainage & Infrastructure. <br />It was agreed that Mr. Metzung will contact Ty McBee, the Village's representative to East Ohio <br />Gas, and report back to Council. <br />Mr. Samac said he has had a couple of recent calls about water outages, just very small outages <br />lasting anywhere from a few seconds to a minute causing air to get into the lines. We will try to <br />track this down with the Water Company to see what is causing that. <br />Mr. Marquardt asked if there is a planning coming out about the maintenance and repairs of <br />roadways. <br />? <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Metzung said I will have a report.
