Regular Council Minutes <br />3-15-04 <br />Page 4 <br />Finance Committee - Mrs. Mills said the committee met this evening and recommended the <br />following items for approval: (see agenda attached) Items 1-10 were discussed per the auditors. <br />Funds will be dispersed under a"super blanket p.o." system. All were recommended for <br />approval. Items 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 were recommended for approval. The <br />committee recommended Ordinances 2004-09 and 2004-15 for approval and recommended first <br />reading only of Ordinance 2002-12 and Resolution 2004-08. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mr. Saponaro said on February 215t, there was a breakfast <br />meeting for Hillcrest Council of Councils which is: Beachwood, Gates Mills, Highland Heights, <br />Lyndhurst, Mayfield Heights, Mayfield Village, Pepper Pike, Richmond Heights and South <br />Euclid. It was held at Landerhaven Executive Caters. The topic of the breakfast meeting was the <br />Public Employees Retirement System. Fred Welch who is the Senior Field Representative put on <br />a powerpoint presentation and passed out information to all those people looking at reviewing <br />their retirement benefits. I have some infonnation here; if anyone needs a packet, Mr. Saponaro <br />has the information. <br />Historical Societv - Mrs. Mills said our Library has been doing genealogical studies for inquires <br />from out of state. We had 2 this past month. We have found connections for both of them and <br />have added their input to our data for future references. One was from Rome, Ohio; the other one <br />from Texas. The Clerks' Association enjoyed a tour of our facility last month; we will have two <br />more organizations touring in April and May. The Horticulture School will begin work at the <br />Historic House on March 29. We greatly appreciate your annual contribution and support. We <br />have a dedicated staff and a unique facility. Your patronage is a cornerstone to this Historical <br />Society. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mr. Saponaro said at the March 4th meeting they reviewed the minutes, told us the <br />balance in the checking account and discussed floor hockey, talked about the spring flyer that <br />will come out (cartooning, mad science, golf, etc.) They will co-op some of the classes with <br />community education. Mr. Thoinas gave a report on MBA and how to coordinate the facility <br />usage. The next meeting is April 1St at 7 p.m. at Center School. <br />Orclinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt said no meeting; no report. <br />Plannins! and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt said Planning & Zoning met on March ls` and reviewed <br />the Koren/Cabot lot split at 6910 Wilson Mills and recommended that for approval; it meets all <br />of our codes. We also reviewed the Judge Alvin Krenzler preliminary site plan and <br />recommended approval of that. <br />Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie reported the Board will meet March 24. Soine of the subjects <br />covered will be the Spring Party on March 27. The Debbie Hudacko updates and Facility updates <br />will be discussed. We have some new activities this year: We've added adult co-ed kickball, <br />other adult coed sports including soccer, sand volleyball and bocceball and also added activities <br />for people with physical or developmental disabilities for children anywhere from 5-20 years old. <br />We will have classes on dog training for children to take. Last year we had adult classes. Mr. <br />Thomas talked last meeting about self defense which is open to ladies only. It will be encouraged <br />for high school girls to go to that. We will have different educational health programs including <br />pool maintenance for home pools.
