Regular Council Minutes
4-26-04
Page 8
Plannin2 and Zonin? - Mr. Marquardt said Planning & Zoning had a workshop on the 15th
where there was a presentation on the 2020 report. There is a procedure for reviewing that report
that was defined at that ineeting. The Committee also discussed the Monaco detached building
at 6442 Highland Road. There was no particular opposition but there was no vote taken; it was
not a regular meeting.
Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie said they will ineet this Wednesday. They will discuss and
evaluate the Easter Party, the Debbie Hudacko scholarship candidates and the interviews of those
candidates, program updates, construction updates and the Wiley Park improvements.
Sewer Liaison Commattee - Council President Buckholtz said the Sewer Liaison Committee
will be convening with residents May 24. We will have some updates prior to that.
SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS:
S.O.M. Widening Committee - Mr. Metzung said water tie-in at S.O.M. and Wilson Mills Road
where the new water line is to tie into with the existing line has run into a little snafu. When they
dug out the water line to get it ready for the tap, Great Lakes Construction didn't feel the pipe
was strong enough to take the tap and immediately filled the hole. The Village will be working
out the details on how to get that problem resolved. Part of what is entailed in that repair is
taking out a 15-20' section of pipe and it will mean shutting off water from S.O.M. Center Road
on Wilson Mills Road to Austin's. There are several homes and businesses that will be without .
water for 20 hours, so it is something we have to coordinate.
Council President Buckholtz asked if they have a time frame.
Mr. Metzung said no; we are still working a large part of the details. We were informed of this
last Wednesday and there are a lot of questions to be answered.
Council President Buckholtz said for Mr. Metzung to make sure we are all notified about that.
Mr. Metzung said Great Lakes said they are currently 38 days behind schedule which puts their
completion date for placing concrete December 7. We made it clear that we have some concerns
about placing concrete that late in the year so whether or not they can get caught up and get back
on schedule or whether this moves into a third year, is dependent mostly on weather-weather is
the big determining factor. Maybe some miracle can happen and they can catch those days up.
Utility work on S.O.M. Center Road from Highland Road to Wilson Mills--we have the Gas
Company, a water line crew and SBC all working at the same tiine. Mr. Neugebauer has been
coordinating the utilities from the beginning. It is a luxury to have someone that can dedicate his
time to that task; contacting those companies to get those people to move in a timely manner
takes phone calls every day froin him.
Wage Ne2otiations Committee - Mrs. Mills said we will be going into Executive Session for
those purposes this evening.
2020 Vision Committee - Mr. Marquardt said just the discussion on the proposals.
