Regular Council Minutes <br />5-17-04 <br />Page 5 <br />Commission on Agin - Mrs. Mills read the report from Eunice Kalina, attached. Mrs. Mills said <br />Dorothy Goldstein asked me if there was any way that we could post a notice posted at Village <br />Hall in need of volunteers for Meals on Wheels. <br />Drainai4e & Infrastructure/Stormwater MQt. - Mrs. Cinco said this cominittee will meet on <br />Wednesday the 26th at 8 a.m. in the Service Department. There was no meeting since our last <br />Council meeting. <br />Safety and Service - Mrs. Cinco said Safety & Service met on May 3. At that time we discussed <br />the pick-up trucks for the Service Department, netting for the soccer fields, drainage between te <br />softball fields and the annual water fee to Cleveland Water for hydrants. <br />Finance Committee - Mrs. Mills said Finance Committee met this evening. On the agenda we <br />had 18 items. All items except 3 were recommended for approval. The Sports `n More Camp <br />amount needs to be changed to $4,250. The other change is Ordinance 2004-23, which should <br />be put on first reading. The other exception was Resolution 2004-08; that is to stay on second <br />reading because we have to have a Public Hearing on that. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mr. Saponaro said no report. <br />Historical Societv - Mrs. Mills said 3 house tours and a DAR Luncheon are scheduled during <br />May and June this year. A light has been added to the stairwell going to the basement. The <br />Mayfield Village Garden Club will have a Flower Show on June 6th at the Historical House from <br />1-4. The horticulture students will be working at the Cemetery and at the Historical House on <br />May 19 and May 24 from 8- 11:30 a.m. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mr. Saponaro said M.A.R.C met last Thursday evening. It was a short meeting. We <br />went over a few programming notes and they set the schedule for the next meeting. I believe it is <br />June 4 at 7:30 in the Teacher's Lounge. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt said there was no meeting; no report. <br />Planning and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt said Planning and Zoning will have a Workshop on <br />Thursday the 20ch <br />Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie said Recreation met on the 28th. To make it brief, I will cover <br />just a few itetns. We made an evaluation on the Spring Party and Easter Egg Hunt which was a <br />huge success. Next year's date will be closer to Easter. (It was off a little bit this year and some <br />people missed it because they thought it was automatically the Saturday before.) It is set for <br />March 19 for next year already. The interviews for the Debbie Hudacko scholarship are being <br />done now. By the next meeting`we should know who won the scholarships. The pool is being <br />readied. Some of the college siudents that are working for us for the summer are already here; <br />they are helping get the pool ready. Defense for Women was offered for the first time and we <br />only had 10 participants. Stress Manageinent was canceled due to low enrollment. Kickball and <br />Jazzercize worked out well. Adult Softball and Soccer are on their way. As usual, those are <br />already at maximum. The Youth Softball is still la little on the low side for ages 9-11 and 14-18. <br />We are working at reconfiguring Wiley Park after everything is done down here on S.O.M. <br />Cruise Night is on the 12 th and Donna could probably use some more helpers.
