Regular Council Minutes
5-17-04
Page 6
Sewer Liaison Committee - Council President Buckholtz said there will be a meeting on
Monday, May 24 [at 7 p.m.] We have confirmation that people from the Board of Health will be
here in this room; while your Citizen's Advisory Committee is going on in the back room, we
will be talking about sanitary sewers up here.
Mayor Rinker said we are focusing on Highland Road and Metro Park Drive. There was an item
that had been raised, by Mr. DeMuth I think, about 2 meetings ago in Citizen's Advisory. It has
been a while since we have really just kind of gone over it. So it isn't that there is anything
imminent, people's curiosity always gets piqued when we set up a meeting. It has really been
some time since we have gone over these things. I think there are enough new residents where it
is probably just good for all of us to revisit the strategies and overall game plans we have. The
meeting is at 7 p.m. and Rick Novickis will be here. He has attended these meetings before.
SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS:
S.O.M. Widening Committee - Mrs. Mills deferred to Mr. Metzung to report.
Mr. Metzung said they are preparing to place the concrete at the northeast section of the project
while it is in the Phase 2 part. They've completed a peripheral of the sub-base and other areas
were identified as needing more work. Tonight's rain didn't help that at all so that will be put
back a little bit for the repair to those. They were working on the under-drains today. They are
definitely moving as hard as they can at getting some concrete laid up in that neighborhood.
Water line installation is nearing completion as the area here in the south end is almost complete
or may have been completed today. Then they have the section at Highland Road where they
will need to make the tie-in between the north and the south sections. That will complete the
main line work; they will have to follow with connections to all the homes so it will be a little
while before we actually switch over to the new line but progress is being made.
Wage Negotiations Committee - Mr. Marrie said I am very happy to report that we have reached
an agreement with the firefighters and it is a done deal. We will be voting on the ordinance
tonight which is 2004-12.
Council President Buckholtz said I am sure I speak for everyone. Thank you for all the time and
effort.
Mr. Marrie said a lot of thanks go to Patsy and Joanne. It has been a long one on this one but I
think we all learned a lot.
2020 Vision Committee- Mr. Marquardt said no report.
Infonnation & Technologv Board - Council President Buckholtz said we met this week via
teleconference and took care of one matter. We voted a chairman to that cominittee and I am
proud to announce that that Chairman is Toin Marrie; he will be taking the helin on that. So I
will turn things over to you on that.
Mr. Marrie said as you've said, we met but still have yet to have a full meeting other than the
teleconferencing. I want to assure everybody here, there was quite a lot of discussion last time
