Regular Council Minutes <br />6-28-04 <br />Page 22 <br />Mr. Marrie said right, we didn't know what the cost was but that will come up the next trip. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />First Reacling of Ordinance No. 2004-31, entitled; "An emergency ordinance submitting a <br />proposal for a charter amendment to the electors relative to eliminating the prohibition against <br />Council members serving more than three (3) consecutive terms." Submitted by Initiative <br />Petition of the citizens. <br />Mrs. Mills asked if that has to be suspended. <br />Dr. Parker, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring an <br />Ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2004-31. <br />? Council President Buckholtz said with 31 and 32, just for the benefit of the record as the Law <br />Director pointed out we are not voting whether we are in favor of this; we will get that <br />opportunity as voters in the November election but it is our responsibility to support the initiative <br />by law, by Charter, that was brought to us by the community. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />First Readins of Ordinance lvo. 2004-32, entitled; "An emergency ordinance submitting a <br />proposal for a charter amendment to the electors relative to eliminating the prohibition against <br />holding the office of Mayor for more than three (3) consecutive terms."
