Regular Council Minutes
7-19-04
Page 6
OPEN PORTION - 3 minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state
their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion pertaining to the items under
"Old Business" only.
NEW BUSINESS
• Sewer Update from Caucus (per 6/28 mt~)
Several side discussions were held.
Mr. Brett said we pay for storm and infrastructure by kind of what is on the demand list and what
is available. When we started requiring co-payments, the demand fell off precipitiously so we
didn't actually transfer any funds this year; we have $99,000 left in there so with $25,000 off that
we have $75,000 for next year so I probably wouldn't transfer anything there. But we kind of
thought---
Council President Buckholtz said that was for that sister fund and Mrs. Cinco said that doesn't
have to do with Drainage & Infrastructure.
Mr. Brett continued: there are 2 separate funds: 291 is sewer relief -that is purely sanitary. 291
is what you have the meetings with and people come and those are 2 separate funds; it was never
my impression that $100,000 was set for the 291 fund. It was set at $25,000 and then the next
year we went to $50,000....
Council President Buckholtz said now the request came from whoever addressed Council that
night to make it---
Several people said no, the sewer relief fund.
Council President Buckholtz said but the Sewer Relief is strictly sanitary. So you feel
comfortable leaving it at $50,000?
Mr. Brett said that will be a decision that Council will make every year with the appropriation
Ordinance but as I stated at the last meeting, in the tax budget-it is just a preliminary plan-but
we did bump that to $200,000. Again, that is not the final appropriation of Council.
Council President Buckholtz asked, so we don't have to take any action?
Mr. Brett said no we don't. It has been duly noted that Council does not have to do anything.
Council President Buckholtz said for the record, we have funds that are specifically allocated for
both sanitary sewer and for stormwater management and we will continue to keep that going in
some fashion.
• 2020 Vision Plan Approval (per recommendation of P&Z)
