As reported at our
last meeting, the Halloween Party went exceptionally well for the children. Special thanks should
go to the Key Club and the Boy Scouts for their involvement and the excellent job they did with
the games and the haunted house. The youth MBA program has over 275 participants in it. The
Teen Halloween event held at Mayfield High School was a huge success and will probably be
held next year. The Mens' 35 and over basketball league is underway; it was a bit low for the
Mens' 18 and over league so that one was cancelled. Mayfield Village along with Mayfield
Heights are working together on an adult Dodgeball tournament in January. The annual Santa
Party and the annual Santa Ride, Bill covered that. Ice Daze at Wiley Park will be January 22
and February 12 from 1 to 4. It was a big hit last year. We covered and finalized discussion on
Parkview Pool for 2005. We agreed that only school district residents and school district students
can purchase a season pass. A family of a school district student living outside the district
cannot; they would have to come as a guest. Bill has instituted an over the phone registration for
some events and it was a big hit right away. In a matter of a couple days, we had 20 people call
in. I am not sure Danielle is excited about it but it is working well; it is more efficient.
Mr. Saponaro asked why did we decide that a family living outside the district couldn't get a
pool pass but the student can. What is the rationale behind that?
Mr. Marrie said because a lot of students in the District St. Francis for one, can--but if they go
to St. Francis they may live in Pepper Pike. The kids were allowed to buy the pass so could go
\ swimming with their friends but we did not open it to families but we allowed them as guests.
Mr. Saponaro said we did offer that last year.
