Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />January 30, 2006 <br />Page 11 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie reported that the Recreation Board met on Wednesday the 18tn <br />The holiday party was discussed. There were 75 children at the Christmas party. It was <br />extremely well attended. We do have a new Santa Claus, Dave Perout. He did a great job. Al <br />Scaccia was given a retirement party and thanked by the Mayor which was extremely well <br />received by his family. The MBA program has over 300 participants in it this year. The biggest <br />problem we have with this program is that we are running out of gyms and do not have the space <br />to handle it. The Smart Start Basketball for 3-5 year olds has 23 children involved. 15 of the <br />students from Mayfield Village participated in the ski trip to Holiday Valley. There are 6 teams <br />in each of the 35 and over and 18 and over men's league basketball. That is going extremely <br />well. The ladies basketball was cancelled due to lack of low enrollment. This summer there will <br />be an adaptive camp along with our regulax summer junior camp. There will be five children <br />there and they will have their own aid with them for the camp due to their handicap. The next <br />meeting is February 15tn <br />SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />2020 Vision Committee - Dr. Parker indicated that there was no report. <br />Information & Technologv - Mr. Marrie reported that a meeting has been scheduled for <br />Wednesday at 5:00. A report will be provided following same. <br />Wase Review Committee - Mrs. Mills indicated a meeting was scheduled with some <br />employees on January 25 . The next meetings are scheduled for February 3`d and March 2"a <br />with the employees and their representatives. OPEN PORTION - 3 minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to spea.k must first state <br />their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion pertaining to the items under <br />"Old Business" only. <br />There were no comments. <br />Second Reading of Ordinance No. 2005-18, entitled, "An emergency ordinance authorizing and <br />directing the Mayor to enter into a Development Agreement with Progressive Casualty Insurance <br />Company relative to the southern most part of the Northwest Quadrant." Introduced by Mayor <br />Rinker and Council as a Whole. First Reading May 18, 2005, Second Reading June 20, 2005. <br />This ordinance will remain on second reading.
