Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
February 27, 2006
Page 6
M.A.R.C. - Dr. Parker reported that M.A.R.C. met February 2°d for its annual meeting. The
Nominating Committee moved to accept the following slate of officers: President - George
Hughes, Vice-President: Kathy Sbrocco, Treasurer - John Folkman and Secretary Kay Vincent.
The punt, pass and kick competition from last fall in Mayfield had a representative that ended up
winning the Mentor round and came in third in the contest held at the stadium. Mr. Thomas
mentioned that we are looking for our Youth/Adult Sports Coordinator. The next meeting is
March 2, 2006.
Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt reported that Ordinance Review met on the
14t . There were two items on the agenda. The first was the ordinance relative to modifying the
ordinance on solicitation. The key factor is the registration and follow up will be with the police
department rather than with administration. That will give us better control over solicitors. The
other ordinance pertained to the planned residential development that was an issue that the entry
driveway was never specified and the recommendation is to extend that to a 60 foot frontage on
the entryway to any planned residential development community.
Planning and Zonins - Mr. Marquardt deferred the report to Mr. Marrelli as he was unable to
attend the meeting. Mr. Marrelli reported that at the last meeting the criteria for special use and
conditional use permits were discussed. The findings will be brought to another workshop and
presented to Council once the issues are fine-tuned.
Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie reported that the Recreation Board met on the 15t". Tracy
Wilson and Doug DelRosa were welcomed as new members. The spring and summer brochure
is in the mail. Some of the new programs axe learn to skate for adaptive participants, casino trips,
wine tasting trips, Easter Bunny express train trips, mystery train trip, flag football for 8th and 9tn
graders, smart golf for 5-7 year olds and tiny and mini-basketball camps for the children. Pool
passes will go on sale on Tuesday, May 30th at Parkview Pool, not at the Civic Center. The
annual Easter Egg Hunt and spring party will be on April 8th at noon in the Community Room.
The next meeting is on the 15th
SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS:
2020 Vision Committee - Dr. Parker indicated that there was no report.
Information & Technologv - Mr. Marrie reported that a meeting took place with Cheryl, Chief
Mohr and Mr. Buckholtz on a proposal given to them. A decision has not been made on it. We
are looking at it. Mr. Buckholtz added that he met with Ron Davis who had some good
suggestions and some interesting suggestions. The network is in and running. The server is in.
Mr. Buckholtz has had a little bit of conversation with Chief Mohr. There are some people in-
house that are eager, specifically, Cheryl at the fire department and Jeff Thomas in
administration. Mr. Buckholtz indicated that these two individuals are qualified and can be
trained if necessary for basic work on the p.c.'s. Mr. Buckholtz would be more than happy to
show them a few things to point them in the right direction. One other recommendation is the
issue of training. Mr. Buckholtz indicated that this is a possibility, especially with the Outlook
