Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />May 22, 2006 <br />Page 4 <br />FIRE - Chief Mohr <br />Chief Mohr reported that our new fire truck will be arriving Wednesday afternoon. We <br />are rather pleased with its progress since we started the project in December. <br />Chief Mohr also reported that the Fire Safety House, purchased with 9-1-1 Funds is going <br />to be rolled out next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning at the Fire Station with the 3ra <br />Graders at Center Elementary. The 3`d Grade Class will have the first safety classes. Everyone <br />is more than welcome to participate or stop by and see how it will be done. <br />FINANCE - Phillip Brett <br />There was no report. <br />POLICE - Chief Dearden <br />There was no report. <br />PARKS & RECREATION - Bill Thomas <br /> <br />Mr. Thomas reported that it was a beautiful day for the dedication of the new softball <br />fields on Saturday, April 29th. It was a very nice turnout. All of the leagues kicked off their <br />games the following week. Then, everything came to a standstill; the worst week ever due to the <br />rain. All league games were cancelled the entire week. <br />Mr. Thomas also reported that the scoreboards and shade structures are going in this <br />week. Pool pass and aquatic registration will begin on Tuesday May 30th at the pool. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Activities Committee - Mrs. Betsa thanked everyone who volunteered for the pancake <br />breakfast. While we do not have a final account of attendees, early reports indicate that over <br />1200 people attended. Suminer event planning is underway. Sign up sheets are in Administration <br />for the Cruise-In, Summer Concert Series and July 4th Celebration. If you are able to volunteer <br />for any of these events, please conta.ct our office. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, <br />May 31 St at 7:00 p.m. <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Marrelli reported that Architectural Review Board will meet <br />on Thursday, May 25t at 8:00 p.m. in the loft. <br />Beautification Committee - Mr. Saponaro reported that the Beautification Committee had a <br />joint meeting with Citizen's Advisory Committee on May 15ffi. biscussed was the role of the <br />Committee and how we can help each other. Our first inaugural event was the clean up day last <br />Saturday, May 20th. We had a nice showing, 15 people turned out. Service provided us with the <br />gaxbage bags and gloves. The party split in two and walked down Wilson Mills. The property
