Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
May 22, 2006
Page 5
from the corner all the way down to the I-271 ramps was cleaned. About 15-20 garbage bags
were filled by a great group of people from both Committees and people who really wanted to
pitch in and beautify the Village. Everyone's comment was how you don't realize how garbage
impacts even our Village. You may not see it, but they are in the trees and bushes. Bags of
garbage were filled up because of everything thrown about. Mr. Saponaro congratulated all on a
great job. It is hopeful that the committee can clean up the other side of 271. The next meeting
is scheduled for June 19tn -
Mr. Buckholtz added that it is true that we just get used to seeing garbage; you don't even
notice it. Mr. Saponaro agreed, stating that you get desensitized to the fact that gaxbage is
blowing along and you don't think to bend down and pick it up. We need to.
Board of Appeals - Mr. Marrelli reported that the Committee met last week and approved two
items, first of which is Dr. Eadie's expansion on S.O.M. Center Road, expanding the offices. The
second item was Henry Merkel on the Upper 40's to cut down up to 90 trees on 21 acres for his
reforestation process.
Dr. Parker indicated that it says 90 trees per year. It made it sound like for every year.
Mr. Marrelli clarified that it is only 90 trees for the year, not year after yeax.
Cemetery - There was no report.
Citizen's Advisorv Board - Mr. Saponaro reported that the Board met jointly with the
Beautification Committee to discuss the projects going on with the two committees.
