Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
July 17, 2006
Page 9
On July 11tH, Mr. Thomas took almost 100 campers and residents to Cedar Point.
Although it rained off and on, everyone enjoyed themselves.
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Activities Committee - Mrs. Mills reported that the last meeting was June 28tH. The
Committee geared up for the July 4tH Celebration. The band concerts are going well. Volunteers
are still needed to work the concession stand.
Architectural Review Board - Mr. Marrelli reported that the Architectural Review Board met
twice since the last Council meeting, once on June 22°d where a sun room addition on Village
Trails was approved and some signage at 731 Beta was reviewed. We then met on July 13tH and
approved Dr. Eadie's expansion of his dental clinic and the architecture of a new home on
Lander.
Beautification Committee - Mr. Saponaro reported the Committee met on June 19tH. Various
members of the Committee would like to help out on smaller projects, one of them being the
circle at Walnut. There was a need for mulch. Sue and Doug DelRosa got a truckload of mulch
and spent an afternoon spreading it in the cul de sac. It looked very nice. Also, Joanne O'Brien
spent a lot of time trying to beautify the Village more. It was decided that even though it was
last minute and probably not the way that we would like to do it in the future, we wanted to get
some hanging baskets with flowers for parts of the Village. Joanne spent a lot of time doing that.
They have been hung up in the Village. The Committee does a lot of great work. They have a lot
of great citizens. Continued participation is encouraged.
Board of Auueals - Mr. Marrelli reported that there was no meeting, so there is no report.
Cemetery - Mrs. Mills reported that the Garden Club is working with the flowers at the
cemetery. Additionally, in relationship to the Historical Society, the man that lit up the
Historical House is from Chesterland, and she had him come out and look at the pole that
illuminates the American flag at the cemetery. He came out and looked at it and advised Mrs.
Mills not to even bother with it, just leave it the way it is because it will probably cost about
$7,000.00 to do underground wiring because there is nothing there. If it can be led off of a
house, it would be beneficial, but not the way it is.
Citizen's Advisory Board - Mr. Saponaro reported that Citizen's Advisory met on June 26tH
The next meeting is scheduled for August 28tH . Everyone should have received a copy of the
Minutes. Also, you may note that on the off-ramp of 271, the school bus and other vehicles are
gone. Doug Metzung got that taken care of. It was the landscaper who does work for ODOT
who just decided that was a good place to park his vehicles for the summer. With regard to the
volunteers for the summer concerts, it was suggested that if any are needed for certain concerts,
it be posted on the marquee.
