Regular Council Minutes
10/23/06
Page 16
time that we began this project. This will more or less complete the hardscape of it. We also
have some plantings of trees that we promised that we will continue with. We are almost done.
Council President Buckholtz commented that the signage in the entranceway is
tremendous. Mr. Marrie added that it is outstanding.
Mayor Rinker added for the benefit of the public, the big mover in this was with the
widening of S.O.M. Center Road. It placed the former stanchions in line of sight especially on
the south side. So it is pieces and parts, and you try to do it all in one fell swoop. It is interesting
that if you go back even further when there originally were discussions with the S.O.M.
Widening Committee trying to anticipate what would happen in that area, people were really
trying to figure out what would be the best aesthetic, the overall way to retain the privacy
screening that had pre-existed. In the long run we have added some fencing along two properties,
the Thomes and Phillips and also taken advantage on S.O.M. of the existing mounding there. As
you go in to Aintree on Wildwood, it was a real hodgepodge, so to be able to pull it all together
and work with the property owner, this is a great result and in terms of some of the costs
originally discussed, we are talking a fraction of the overall cost. Everyone comes out ahead.
Good work by the Service Department.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any other questions. There were none.
Roll Call: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Expenditure Authorized
Motion to authorize expenditure in the amount not to exceed $20,000.00 to
Progressive Fitness Center OHFIG for fitness center memberships (pass through).
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to authorize expenditure in the
amount not to exceed $20,000.00 to Progressive Fitness Center OHFIG for fitness center
memberships (pass through).
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. There were no
comments.
Roll Call: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Expenditure Authorized
First Reading of Ordinance No. 2006-44, "An emergency ordinance amending Section
907.03 of the Village's Codified Ordinances Pertaining to the Number of Members of
Council on the Beautification Committee." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a
Whole.
Council President Buckholtz asked if we are ready to go on this one. Mr. Diemert advised
that it is all set.
