Regular Council Minutes <br />10/23/06 <br />Page 7 <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Marrelli reported that the Board of Appeals met on October 17tH. There <br />were two items, one was a sign set back for the Carney building which was approved and the <br />other was screening of a recreational vehicle for a resident on Highland and that was approved. <br />Cemetery - Mrs. Mills reported that the Garden Club has presented a bill for the summer work <br />at the cemetery. The Historical House and Garden Club share in this expense. The cost to <br />Mayfield Cemetery is $93.00. Also, it was requested by the Garden Club to plant another locust <br />tree along the rod-iron fence. That cost will be $150.00. <br />Citizen's Advisory Board - Dr. Parker reported that Citizen's Advisory met on October 3`d <br />We discussed a number of issues, including the entranceway to Aintree North, the Beautification <br />Committee and an update on their projects, questions regarding Council, homeowner's <br />associations, the new police building, Progressive, repair of sidewalks at Aintree, trash pick-up <br />times and issues with broken glass, the lighting package of S.O.M., Civic Center renovations and <br />the concrete boxes that AT&T was putting up which Mr. Metzung will be looking into. They <br />would like information about this. Mr. Metzung will get back to them on this. <br />Commission on A~in~ -Mrs. Kalina indicated that a report was provided. <br />Drainage & Infrastructure/Stormwater Mgt. -Mrs. Cinco reported that there has not been a <br />meeting. It is Mrs. Cinco's understanding from Mr. Metzung that Mr. Anselmo is on the job for <br />the three projects that we gave to him and half of the other project. Mr. Buckholtz asked if the <br />Committee was still accepting applications. Mrs. Cinco said they were. <br />Safety and Service -Mrs. Cinco reported that Safety and Service met on Monday, October Stn <br />At that time, we discussed the fireworks for the next three years, jail repairs at Gates Mills, MDT <br />unit internal drive battery and warranty, towmotor for the Service Department, S.O.M. Center <br />lighting package and TC3. Most of these items are on the agenda this evening. <br />Finance Committee - Mr. Saponaro reported that Finance met and approved all of the items that <br />were on the agenda except we did remove an item regarding the Board of Appeals case because <br />it does not belong on our agenda. We deferred the item with respect to jail repairs for the Village <br />of Gates Mills. Chief Dearden asked us to defer on that because. they are investigating some <br />other means regarding that. Mr. Buckholtz asked what items those were. Mr. Saponaro <br />responded that Item 1 was removed from the Finance agenda and the item regarding the jail <br />repairs were deferred. <br />Historical Society - Mrs. Mills read the report. A copy of the report is attached hereto. With <br />regard to the Quilt Show, Mayor Rinker asked who got First Place, Mrs. Mills said a woman who <br />made it for the Music Circle and they took it all over, even to Stan Hewitt and sold $7,500.00 <br />worth of tickets. It was a king size quilt. A violin was in the middle and the quilting had visible <br />instruments into the quilt and on the perimeter of the quilt she had all these notes. It was a song. <br />The woman who won it was from Virginia and when she realized she won the quilt, she gave it <br />back to the woman who made the quilt because she said anybody that put all those hours in. <br />should never give it away. <br />
