Regular Council Minutes
11 /20/06
Page 3
Mayor Rinker stated that Mr. Drobnick's son and daughter were present.
Mayor Rinker advised that over the years we have tried to express what we feel is the best way
that we can show extra appreciation to people whose spirit of community involvement really
transcends a lot of the other awards they get. This is one that is very special. It is Mayfield
Village's Outstanding Citizen Award. It is our privilege to be able to present it. We are sorry
Bob could not be here tonight, but we know that on his behalf you will be able to relay our
feelings about him. We really miss him and wish him the best.
Mayor Rinker presented the award to Mr. Drobnick's son and daughter. Mr. Drobnick's son
indicated that his father could not be here tonight, but he wanted to pass on a few words. He
would like to thank everyone. He enjoyed working with everyone and the group as a committee.
He thought everyone was very professional and outstanding to work with. Out of alI of the
communities, he loved working for this community. He looked forward to coming to work here
with everyone every day. Thank you very much for allowing him to be part of your lives.
Council took a break for refreshments at 8:20 p.m.
Council reconvened at 8:35 p.m.
COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT BILL BUCKHOLTZ
Mr. Buckholtz had no comments.
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS:
SERVICE - Douglas Metzung
Mr. Metzung reported that there are two items on tonight's agenda for the Service
Department. One is a motion to authorize the rubbish contract. Mr. Metzung has been working
with Tom Evans from Highland Heights. There are just a few minor changes in the contract.
They are looking to go to bid for that later in the month. The second project is the Wiley Park
project. Mr. Metzung asked that we table this as opposed to rejecting it. We just received the
bids today. Mr. Metzung would like to go through those a little more thoroughly to see if they
are as far out of line as they appear to be. We have 30 days to accept or not.
BUILDING -John Marrelli
Mr. Marrelli reported that there is some rumor of a gas well being drilled on the Georgian
Medical Arts Building property. Diane Calta and Mr. Marrelli are working on looking through
