Regular Council Meeting
2-26-07
Page 14
Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt indicated that there was no meeting, so there
is no report.
Planning and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt reported that Planning and Zoning had a workshop on
February 15t . There were two items on the agenda. The first was a preliminary lot split for
Progressive Insurance Campus III. The other topic was a conditional use permit for the Jump
and Sprout Day Care facility at St. Bart's Church. Both of these will be on the agenda for the
regulax meeting of Planning and Zoning scheduled for Monday, March Stn
Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie reported that the Recreation Board met on February 21St. The
Board discussed the new Parks and Recreation program brochure that is coming out. Everyone
was excited because it has gone from 24 to 32 pages. It has expanded considerably. We did
discuss the carbon monoxide leak and some of the schedules that Sean from Mayfield Heights
worked on. Everyone got a copy of the letter from Superintendent Dr. Price regarding this. The
Spring party and Easter Egg Hunt will be on the 31St of March from 12-12:30. We do need
volunteers to help with the kids if you can spare some time. The Committee is pushing to make
sure that we make all the recreation axeas smoke free. That will be discussed more. We will have
signs. We also discussed the first Groundhog Day meeting sponsored by the Mayfield Business
Alliance which was a great success. It was the first time out. They had 200 people attend the
6:00 meeting and breakfast. Sam Rutigliano gave a talk. He was very good. The Mayors from
Mayfield Village, Highland Heights, Gates Mills and Mayfield Heights spoke. Our own Mayor
Rinker was the first fo speak. The mayors were limited to five minutes. They had a clock there.
Our Mayor beat the clock by six seconds. Mayor Scott Coleman of Highland Heights was next
and he got up and said he could not believe that Bruce Rinker beat the clock because he sends
me voicemails that are longer than five minutes. It was a great success. It was also a good
update by all of the Mayors. Our Mayor bragged about our bike paths. He took a little ribbing
on that from the other ones, especially from Coleman.
SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS:
2020 Vision Committee - Dr. Parker reported that a notice of ineeting was sent out. Copies
were put in packets. It is scheduled for Wednesday, March 14th at 7:00 p.m. in Civic Hall.
Information & Technologv - Mr. Marrie stated that there was no meeting.
