Regular Council Meeting
4-30-07
Page 3
BUILDING - John Marrelli
Mr. Marrelli reported that a couple of occupancy permits were issued in April, one to the C.W.
Courtney Company which moved over to the new 700 Beta Building and Holcomb's Knowville
which moved in to 701 Beta.
Mr. Marrelli also stated that he needs to table one item which is on this evening's agenda. At
6827 Thornapple we had a roofing estimate that we are going to wait on so that we can get some
more information on that.
EPZGINEERING - Tom Canpello
Reporting on the sewer project, Tom Cappello stated that the contractor is in the process now of
doing site restoration at Metro Park. They finalized concrete issues today. Tomorrow, weather
pei-rnitting, they will work on the asphalt. They did all of the ditches and drainage work on
Metro Park. In about a week or two they will get ready to do the resurfacing portion. Shortly
after that, they will do the seeding and site restoration. They had to stop on Highland. They will
begin on Highland tomorrow relaying the sewer. They stopped to do the work on the Metro Park
site restoration. They will resume sewer work on Highland tomorrow, Tuesday.
LEGAL I)EPARTMENT - Joe Diemert
There was nothing to report.
FIRE - Lieutenant Girbino
Lieutenant Girbino reported that they will be starting their annual fire hydrant flushing program
in May. It will continue through the summer. They will be posting at streets in advance to let
everyone know they will be flushing.
They are also planning on doing fire safety education for the fourth grade. It is basically a
training program. It will take place on May 17t''. They will do the entire fourth grade at one
time. They are also going to be doing fire safety education for all of the third grade with the fire
saf:ety house on May 30tn
FINAIVCE - Phillip Brett
Mr. Brett reported that this evening on the agenda is an Ordinance approving an agreement
between Mayfield Village and the Water Pollution Control Loan Fund program of the Ohio EPA.
This is for the Highland/Zorn/Metro Park sewer project. It will decrease the expense of the
project inasmuch as this will provide funds at 31/4% to the Village. The funds will be paid back
with the assessments that are levied on the folks that benefit from the project as well as some
srriall transfers from the sewer relief fund every year. That was good news. It took about a year
to secure, but we were able to get that.
_?,_
