Landerbrook School will be coming on
May 8th and May lOth for their 3rd grade lessons in Ohio history. Roger Remec was at the
Historical House today to evaluate the gardens. The Historical Society will be selling raffle
tickets for the quilt at the Mother's Day Pancake Breakfast and also at 50's Night along with
gingerbread cookies.
Hillcrest Council of Councils - There was no report.
M.A.R.C. - Dr. Parker reported that M.A.R.C.. held its last meeting on April Sth. Floor hockey
has finished. Tennis will be played this summer. Art show dates have been finalized. They will
be held the end of September through the end of October. The next meeting will be held on May
3`d at 7:00 p.m. at the Boaxd of Education building.
Ordinance Review Committee - There was no meeting, so there is no report.
Planning and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt reported that Planning and Zoning had a workshop on
April 19t . We discussed amending the conditional use permit for Knowville to accommodate
and discuss how to write conditions relative to retail space at that facility. We will be meeting
on May 7th to vote on that.
Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie reported that the Board met on April 19th. The Spring Party and
Easter Egg Hunt was discussed and evaluated. We did not have a count for it, but it was felt that
this was the largest one that we have had so far. Sean Supler updated us on the different teams .
that we have. The adult softball is completely full along with the adult soccer. Flag football for
the youth has begun. We already have four teams in that again this year. Registration is still
taking place for the youth softball. It looks like we are going to have the same amount of
numbers as last year which would be 4 teams for the 6-8 year old co-ed, 1 team for the 9-11 boys
travel team, 1 team for the 12-14 boys travel team and 6 teams for the 14-18 year old league.
Dave gave us a report on the pool and said that the staff was completely hired and ready to roll.
As in the past, we are going to have the Sizzler Swim Meet this year. We will also be hosting
the Suburban Swim Meet this year because Highland Heights can't due to a construction project
with their parking lot. Highland Heights is working with the Recreation Board to work out
having people in the Village that have passes to go down to Highland Heights and swim on those
days. We will have designated smoking areas outside of the pool and the softball fields. Bill
Thomas brought up the lights for safety purposes.
Mr. Marrie wished to add his concern about the lack of lighting at our parking lot at the Civic
Center. We should consider having them installed. It has not been discussed before. Mr. Marrie
talked to Doug and would like to put that on the Safety and Service agenda for their next
meeting.
Bill has also discussed putting up some screening or netting along the back of Wiley fields so
that the balls are not going out into S.O.M. Center Road. We will not meet again until
