Minutes of the Combined Caucus/Council Meeting
6-11-07
Page 6
will go forward. The Village acquired the property there. That is where the street would be relocated.
We will work up a final budget for that and coordinate with the residents.
CONIlVIENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT BUCKHOLTZ
Council President Buckholtz had nothing to report at this time.
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS:
SERVICE - Douizlas Metzun?
Mr. Metzung reported that Wiley Pavilion was turned over to us last week. There were no gutters
on this pavilion so we needed to provide drainage around the new pavilion in an effort to keep
the water. We put draintile around the outside of the building to take the water away. We have
to replace the concrete walkways and complete the one walkway that comes from the parking lot
into the pavilion. We need to finish all the landscaping and get the grass in all before our first
use which is this weekend. You will see quite a bit of working going on there at the site for the
next few days to get this up and running. Scott Sipos came up with the idea of leveling the area
that was unusable because it was on a large slope. It set us back several days, but in the long run
it will be a major improvement to the area.
Other areas the Service Department has been concentrating on are the landscaping around the
center of town in preparation for 50's Night. Everyone will agree that the landscaping in our
building and across the street and other areas is looking as good as always. Mr. Metzung is very
proud of the work that those guys do.
The pool is open. It was a typical year. We had only one pump failure which took a little
finesse, but they were able to get it up and running. One of the large pipes for the filter system
had cracked and had to be replaced.
The hanging baskets came in last month. All brackets are up where the committee indicated they
should be. The Service Department has to water the 40 baskets and a number of pots daily. The
Service Department at first was reluctant to attempt to water all of the pots. While we can't get
to those every day, if we get out to do the watering later in the day because we can't get into the
parking lots, we water them first thing in the morning. We fertilize every fourth day in the
morning so that we can get the pots in front of the buildings.
BUILDING - John Marrelli

Mr. Marrelli reported that Campus III for Progressive is still on track. The next Planning and
Zoning meeting is scheduled on Thursday the 21 St where we will be reviewing the landscaping
and signage and lighting program that they have for us. We are hoping to see that project get
