We received
special recognition for the work done.
Mr. Brett also went last Thursday to Independence, Ohio and picked up the Economic
Development Impact Award from Team NEO. We met a lot of our colleagues. A lot of people
had praise for the Village.
Mr. Brett is working on the 2008 tax budget. There will be a hearing on July 16th. That should
not go more than 40-45 minutes as it has in the past.
FOLICE - Chief Dearden
There was nothing to report.
PARKS & RECREATION - Bill Thomas
Mr. Thomas reported that because of the Service Department's efforts, we were able to open up
Parkview Pool on time. Mr. Thomas thanked Doug and his staff. As a result, we have 296
Village active passes. We have 190 district passes. We have 140 Progressive passes. We have
sold 28 passes to local school district students. From June 4?' when we opened up until the lOtn,
we have had 1,191 people come through Parkview. We had 345 people on June 7th. On Friday,
June 8th, we had 296, 117 on Saturday and 278 on Sunday. That is not bad considering we really
have not full-fledged opened up. This will be our first full week.
Mr. Thomas stated that we have 255 participants who have signed up for our Learn to Swim and
other special aquatic classes.
Two of our stunmer camps started today. We have maxed out on the camps. We have 152
campers at our Sports-N-More camp. Our teen adventure camp started today and we have 50.
We have 45 attending our junior camp. That will start on Tuesday of next week.
They hired a new basketball coach for the Mayfield Schools. His name is Keith Leffler. He will
be working very closely with our youth coaches for our MBA. Mr. Thomas is very excited about
the new addition. Mr. Thomas will continue to work with Tony Ware on the girl's basketball.
ARCHITECT - Ron DiNardo
Mr. DiNardo reported that the soundproof doors are installed by the auditorium. We will get the
trim carpenter out to finish it up and put the trim on there.
