Those who wish to speak must first state <br />their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion pertaining to the items under <br />"Old Business" only. <br />There were no comments. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Motion to approve recommendation from Planning & Zoning for Conditional Use <br />Permit and Final Site & Landscape Plan for the Hilton Garden Inn contingent upon <br />Board of Appeals approval7/17/07 for Landbank Parking and Off-Street Loading <br />Facility. <br />Mr. Marrie, seconded by Mrs. Cinco made a motion to approve recommendation from Planning <br />& Zoning for Conditional Use Permit and Final Site & Landscape Plan for the Hilton Garden Inn <br />contingent upon Board of Appeals approval7/17/07 for Landbank Parking and Off-Street <br />Loading Facility. <br />Council President Buckholtz advised that we have representatives present who would like to <br />make a presentation. <br />Greg Baka with the Omni Companies, the front line developer of the 700 Beta Drive project <br />introduced himself and Matt Solomon the lead architect of the project from City Architecture. <br />Tonight they are at the culmination of a long process of give and take and input from the <br />members of Planning and Zoning related to issues with parking and how the site plan would <br />work at large. They are here tonight to answer any questions about the end result of the process. <br />If they get approval tonight, they are ready to begin construction on the hotel pretty much <br />immediately. <br />Matt provided a summary of where they have been. The 700 Beta Drive project is located on the <br />west side of Beta Drive. He showed the site plan. There is an existing building on-site that is <br />renovated. New businesses are moving in. The Hilton Garden Inn will be located to the west of <br />that existing building. The concepiual design was presented and discussed in October and <br />November of last year to understand how it works with the 2020 Master Plan. It .went before <br />Planning and Zoning and Board of Zoning Appeals for some initial issues to be worked out and <br />some variances granted. Since then, they have been working with John Marrelli and Tom <br />Cappello and selective departments to discuss the site plan and get into the details. In the spring, <br />they went before the Architectural Review Board and got approval for the exterior colors, <br />materials and layout. Finally in the past month they have been submitting site information that <br />has been reviewed by Tom Cappello. The landscape plan and all of the details have been <br />approved for the project with the exception of some drainage issues that Tom Cappello is <br />working out with C.W. Courtney which is the Civil Engineer for the project and also one of the
