Minutes of the Combined Caucus/Council Meeting
7-16-07
Page 8
Recreation Director subbed for the Mayor on Friday at the Relay for Life and won the basketball
shootout.
ARCHITECT - Ron DiNardo
Mr. DiNardo reported that work continues in the theater area. If anyone would like to take a
look, go down there. If you have any questions, give him a call.
HUlVIAN SERVICES - Eunice Kalina
Mrs. Kalina reported that everyone should have the memo with the results of the questionnaire.
They had 159 responses; which is roughly 10%. They also discussed transportation with
Michelle Gorman from Governor's Village. They have no transportation. They would very much
like to get together with us to offer some transportation. Eunice met with Alisa McBride again
along with Nancy Fiororicci from TC3 to discuss some possibilities. They are going with TC3.
That might be a better way for them to go. She would be willing to come and do a presentation
to Council and maybe we can work something out. Since we have received a DVD and TV set,
we are going to start a movie program of our own. We will continue supplying Governor's
Village with movies for their movie program which our residents are invited to attend. We are
also going to try it out for ourselves in our community. We have three scheduled for the fall. We
will see what kind of response we get. We have also made arrangements for a speaker series for
the fall with health topics, social security, safety issues and we will see how that goes. She has a
meeting July 30th with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health. She cannot get a date for the flu
shot program until then. She tried, but she could not. She is assured that they will have it that
day so that it can be put in the next Voice of the Village. We have some new art classes that they
are starting. They are keeping very busy. They have a picnic this Friday at our new pavilion,
weather permitting. We are going to have a tour of the Historical House.
STANDING COMMITTEE fl2EPORTS:
Activities Committee - Mrs. Mills reported that the Fourth of July fireworks went very well.
The crowd was pleased. The band concerts are going very well. We will be having a meeting
sometime in mid-August.
Architectural Review Board - Mr. Marrelli reported that since the last Council meeting, ARB
met on June 14t . Discussed was Progressive's Campus III site landscape and the lighting and
signage package was reviewed. The Arthur Murray Dance Studio was also reviewed at that
meeting: We also approved installation of a solar panel at Preformed Lirie Products on Beta Road
mostly because it is the right thing to do and because they acquired a company in New Mexico
that makes solar panels so it is like a demonstration model, but it actually lights their flag and
there is security lighting in the front yard for free. The Board then met on the 28th of June. They
reviewed a new single family home on Echo Drive and approved that.
Beautification- Mr. Saponaro reported that there was no meeting this month. There is one
scheduled for next month. Hopefully everyone has enjoyed the baskets and planters. Mayor
??
