Minutes of the Combined Caucus/Council Meeting <br />7-16-07 <br />Page 9 <br />Rinker stated that they are phenomenal. Mr. Saponaro said we have to do some tweaking, but <br />for the most part they are beautiful throughout the Village. We will make sure we get them in a <br />week early so that they can be enjoyed at Cruise Night. Thank you to the Service Department for <br />their assistance in watering and maintaining them. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Marrelli reported that Board of Appeals met on June 19th. They had <br />two items, one being the police station. They granted a parking variance for the rear parking lot <br />and the variance on the front setback due to the road widening when SOM was widened. The <br />second item was a fence at 797 Hanover. It was a six foot high vinyl privacy fence which was <br />denied. <br />Cemetery - Mrs. Mills reported that the Garden Club members continue to weed the flower <br />beds. Thank you to the Service Department for their care of the lawn. They are doing a fine job <br />there. <br />Citizen's Advisory Committee - Mr. Marrie reported that the Committee met on June 1 grn <br />The Committee was very thankful for the Civic Center lighting in the parking lot. Mary Singer <br />was very pleased with the turnout during Memorial weekend at Whitehaven Cemetery. They <br />placed 2500 flags. There were 125 people at the ceremony. The Mayor was one of the speakers. <br />It was much bigger and better than in the past. They had a lot of help in passing the flags out. <br />There were a lot of Boy Scout groups and an offshoot of the Boy Scouts, the Young Marines. <br />They dress just like boot camp Marines. They worked their tails of£ They were good. The group <br />is also looking into a pet project, possibly a charity project. That will be discussed later. They <br />killed the rumors again about the northwest corner of Highland and SOM. There is property for <br />sale. There were rumors about what was going in there. Everyone was assured it is residential <br />positively and it is staying that way. They were very complimentary to the group for Cruise <br />Night, especially the clean up afterwards. You see it that night and there is stuff all over the <br />place and then he turns his crew loose and when you get up in the morning you would never <br />know there was a thing there. Hats off to them. The next meeting is scheduled for September. <br />Commission on Agin? - Mrs. Kalina reported that there was a meeting on July Sth. They <br />discussed the upcoming picnic and surveys and the other items that were in my report. <br />Drainage & Infrastructure/Stormwater Mgt. - Mrs. Cinco reported that Drainage & <br />Infrastructure met on July 13t . At that time they approved the two projects that are on the <br />agenda tonight to be passed. There are a couple more properties that we need more information <br />or more residents involved. One application was denied. <br />Safety and Service - Mrs. Cinco reported that they had three items on Safety and Service. <br />They approved the recommendation from Planning and Zoning for conditional use permits and <br />final site and landscape plans for Hilton Garden contingent upon the Board of Appeals' approval. <br />That was passed. They also gave their approval to go out to bid for senior snow plow. They also <br />approved Ordinance 2007-17 for the building codes.
