Minutes of the Combined Caucus/Council Meeting
8-13-07
Page 17
Mr. Buckholtz asked when that meeting would have to take place.
Mr. Brett stated it will have to take place next Monday August 20th, if not earlier.
Mr. Buckholtz asked if everyone is in town next Monday. Would you have enough to go
whichever direction you need to go?
Mr. Brett stated absolutely.
Mr. Saponaro stated that it should be voted on. It may pass.
Mr. Buckholtz asked what it needs to pass.
Mr. Diemert stated that it needs 5 votes to pass as an emergency.
Mr. Brett stated that if it passes by less than a majority, it becomes effective in 30 days.
Mr. Diemert added that that could still work because the bonding company would know the 30
days is there. It is only that the fear of referendum would be there.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any further discussion. There was none.
Council President Buckholtz asked for a Roll Call.
ROLL CALL: AYES: Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Cinco,
Mr. Marquardt, Mr. Marrie,
Mrs. Mills
NAYS: Mr. Saponaro Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted
Council President Buckholtz asked Mr. Diemert to repeat the procedure again for the record.
Mr. Diemert explained that five votes is necessary for it to be adopted as an emergency which it
did. Therefore, it becomes effective as soon as the Mayor signs it:
Mr. Brett then presented to Council and signed the two Fiscal Officer's Certificates in
conjunction with the bond anticipation notes.
Mr. Diemert asked if Council wanted to do Ordinance No. 2007-19 as well now. Is that part of
the bonds as well? Council agreed.
