Minutes of the Combined Caucus/Council Meeting
8-13-07
Page 4
out that it indicates on the front page that it is a Mayfield Community Education program. Mr.
Saponaro said that he understands, but you also have Mayfield Village in the right hand corner.
Mr. Buckholtz complimented Eunice on the beautiful newsletter.
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Activities Committee - Mrs. Mills reported that a meeting is scheduled for this Wednesday,
August 15t at 7:00 in Civic Hall. We will be talking about the stunmer concerts and getting
ready for upcoming holiday events and anything else.
Architectural Review Board - Mr. Marrelli reported that Architectural Review Board met on
July 26t . They had two items, one was a revisit of an addition on Seneca which was approved.
The second item was the Campus II Progressive Electrical Substation site plan and landscaping.
Beautification- Mr. Saponaro reported that the committee held their last meeting last Monday.
The main part of the discussion was what the committee felt regarding the baskets and flowers.
They want feedback from Council as to what they thought about the Village and what we have
done this year. The overwhelming sentiment of the committee was that they were not pleased at
all. They would like feedback. If anyone would like to e-mail it to Mr. Saponaro, he will take it
back to the committee. That goes for any department heads as well. Mr. Buckholtz mentioned
that he has been driving around the last couple of months and noticed communities that seem to
have a nice arrangement. For example, down by Trebisky Road in Richmond Heights or on
Coventry. Who do we get in touch with? Mr. Saponaro told the committee that they did a great
job. It is not a function of the lack of work by the committee. There are some things in play.
The baskets we hung a year before this certainly was not a part of the planning. We have to start
things early. We have to talk more about it and we have to make sure that we have a plan of what
we are trying to achieve. That was so much of a working document that we missed some of our
objectives. It is as much of the-committee's responsibility of making sure that we are putting out
there what we absolutely need. We have formed an ad hoc subcommittee to go and look at the
various locations. Any feedback or recommendations or anything would be greatly appreciated.
Board of Apneals - Mr. Marrelli reported that Board of Appeals met on July 17th. There were
two items on the agenda. One was a six foot rear yard variance for a home addition on Wilson
Mills and the second item was to grant land bank parking in the required setback and an off-
street loading trucking space for the Hilton Garden Inn at 700 Beta.
Cemetery - There was no report.
Citizen's Advisory Committee - Mr. Marrie reported that there was no meeting, so there is no
report. The next meeting is scheduled for September.
Commission on Aging - Mrs: Kalina stated that there was no report.
