There
was one item on the agenda. We approved Planning and Zoning's recommendation for the new
electrical substation at Progressive's Campus II.
Finance Committee - Mr. Saponaro reported that the committee met this evening. They
recommended 15 expenditures for approval. Six ordinances were recommended for approval,
although two of the ordinances were recommended 2-1. That.was Ordinance No. 2007-18 and
Ordinance No. 2007-21:
Historical Society - Mrs. Mills reported that the Garden Club has been working in the gardens
of the Historical House and at the cemetery. Work has completed on the privy. It is really
something to go and look at. Touch up work on the exterior of the house is about complete.
Some sills and boards had to be replaced. The next project is to replace the roof over what is
known as the Hearse Room. Quilters have completed a raffle quilt and a special quilt. They have
had visitors during the summer needing genealogical information.
Hillcrest Council of Councils - There was no report.
M.A.R.C. - There .was no report. The next meeting is scheduled in September.
Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt stated that there was no meeting. The next
meeting will be the second Tuesday in September.
Planning and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt reported that Planning and Zoning had a special meeting
on July 24t to vote on the Progressive substation which was approved by Planning and Zoning at
that time. There will be a workshop this Thursday.
Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie reported that there was no meeting, but he would like to
mention that the new Fall brochure is out. There are some new items in it for all ages. The
Recreation Department and Committee wanted to thank Patsy for recommending fly fishing
which is obviously catching some interest. Basically, what they wanted to get across was that
Bill and his group really appreciate anybody recommending anything for the Recreation
Department that will include different people for different reasons. Lastly, the overall attendance
at the pool for August is down versus last year. However, purchases of passes for the Mayfield
Village residents and school district is up 13% this year compared to last year. It's there and it is
being used. It just seems to be in a little lull. Mr. Brett asked for clarification as to the report. Is
this year to date 2007 compared to all of 2006, or compared to this time last year? Mr. Marrie
stated that to his knowledge it is this time last year.
