There was quite a discussion in Safety and Service and Caucus. <br />There has been nothing further on this item at this time. <br />Finance Committee - Mrs. Mills reported that the committee met this evening. Fourteen items, <br />one ordinance and one resolution were considered and recommended for approval. <br />Historical Society - Mrs. Mills reported that turkey raffle tickets went out in the mail today. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - There was no report. <br />M.A.R.C. - Dr. Parker reported that M.A.R.C. met on October l lth at 7:05. A number of items <br />were discussed. The Art Show will be displayed until October 27th. The Punt, Pass and Kick <br />Competition had about 25 participants which was lower than they expected as well as the <br />enrollment for fall programs. The next meeting will be held on November 8th at 7:30 at the <br />Board of Education. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt stated that there was no meeting. There is no <br />report. <br />Planninlz and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt reported that there was no meeting. There is no report. <br />Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie reported that there was a meeting on Wednesday, October 17`n <br />A brief presentation was provided by Mr. David Williams from Gametime who showed a couple <br />options on proposals for Wiley Park playground, which is about 20 years old. In any case, the <br />one point that the board did bring out was they wanted some items in there for handicapped. <br />They also discussed and recommended for Council consideration a pavilion usage fee for <br />Mayfield School District residents. The residents would be charged $35.00 to use the Parkview <br />and Wiley pavilions. This would be reevaluated the following year. The law department is <br />working on the issue of insurance in the event of a problem. There has been only one small <br />problem. It's not a major thing. The board also recommended a$40.00 across the board <br />increase for pool rentals for three hours. We could also use some volunteers for upcoming <br />events, the Teen Halloween party on the 26t" at the High School and the children's Halloween <br />party which is the 27t" at 1:00. The next meeting is scheduled for November 14`n <br />SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />2020 Vision Committee - Dr. Parker reported that the committee met on Tuesday, October 9tn <br />at 7:30. Mayor Rinker welcomed and thanked the group for attending. A brief overview of the <br />community vision was provided. City Architecture provided an update. Discussion ensued <br />regarding the Town Center concept. It was decided that we need to review our zoning codes. <br />The committee, together with City Architecture, will be looking at zoning possibilities for Town <br />Center. Dr. Parker recommends that everyone read through the minutes. It is a lively discussion , <br />with a lot of information. <br />Information & Technolozy - There was no report.
