Minutes of the Council Meeting October 22, 2007 Page 6 panels at Highland Road. There was quite a discussion in Safety and Service and Caucus. There has been nothing further on this item at this time. Finance Committee - Mrs. Mills reported that the committee met this evening. Fourteen items, one ordinance and one resolution were considered and recommended for approval. Historical Society - Mrs. Mills reported that turkey raffle tickets went out in the mail today. Hillcrest Council of Councils - There was no report. M.A.R.C. - Dr. Parker reported that M.A.R.C. met on October l lth at 7:05. A number of items were discussed. The Art Show will be displayed until October 27th. The Punt, Pass and Kick Competition had about 25 participants which was lower than they expected as well as the enrollment for fall programs. The next meeting will be held on November 8th at 7:30 at the Board of Education. Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt stated that there was no meeting. There is no report. Planninlz and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt reported that there was no meeting. There is no report. Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie reported that there was a meeting on Wednesday, October 17`n A brief presentation was provided by Mr. David Williams from Gametime who showed a couple options on proposals for Wiley Park playground, which is about 20 years old. In any case, the one point that the board did bring out was they wanted some items in there for handicapped. They also discussed and recommended for Council consideration a pavilion usage fee for Mayfield School District residents. The residents would be charged $35.00 to use the Parkview and Wiley pavilions. This would be reevaluated the following year. The law department is working on the issue of insurance in the event of a problem. There has been only one small problem. It's not a major thing. The board also recommended a$40.00 across the board increase for pool rentals for three hours. We could also use some volunteers for upcoming events, the Teen Halloween party on the 26t" at the High School and the children's Halloween party which is the 27t" at 1:00. The next meeting is scheduled for November 14`n SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS: 2020 Vision Committee - Dr. Parker reported that the committee met on Tuesday, October 9tn at 7:30. Mayor Rinker welcomed and thanked the group for attending. A brief overview of the community vision was provided. City Architecture provided an update. Discussion ensued regarding the Town Center concept. It was decided that we need to review our zoning codes. The committee, together with City Architecture, will be looking at zoning possibilities for Town Center. Dr. Parker recommends that everyone read through the minutes. It is a lively discussion , with a lot of information. Information & Technolozy - There was no report.
