Minutes of the Council Meeting <br />December 17, 2007 <br />Page 5 <br />time it had snowed. It was very slippery. The fire department came to the rescue and helped <br />several people to their caxs for which we are all grateful. The card group holiday party is <br />tomorrow. They will come a half hour early and have lunch before playing cards. We are <br />working on the '08 calendar. We have our regular ongoing computer, art and a couple other <br />classes. We have added some. We have some cooking sessions. We will go back to our senior <br />speaker series, which was a very big success. We have just set a date of Friday, February 15th for <br />the annual employees' thank you luncheon for all they do for the seniors throughout the year. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Activities Committee - Mrs. Mills reported that December 2°d brought a wonderful rainstorm. <br />The tree lighting ceremony was moved to the community room. The children from Center <br />School performed. It was very nice. The Mayor was able to light the Christmas tree inside. The <br />lights outside also were lit. It worked out very well. We had delicious donuts and Santa Claus <br />was there too with his popcorn balls. The Menorah Lighting was on Tuesday, December 4cn <br />That was very well attended. We had delicious donuts and potato pancakes. This past Saturday <br />night, December 15th was the Fourth Annual Singing Angels Concert which was very well <br />attended considering the dangerous weather we had that night. The children showed up and the <br />residents showed up. It was a very nice evening. After the concert, we had a delicious cookie <br />reception. Everyone that attended the concert came in and enjoyed some refreshments. The <br />Winter Solstice is this Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the pool. Everyone come down and have a hot dog <br />Beautification - Mr. Saponaro reported that the next meeting is set for January 26th at 7:00 p.m. <br />at Civic Hall. <br />and walk in the woods. <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Marrelli reported that Architectural Review Board met last <br />week. They approved the Heinen's expansion, the three additions to the Heinen's building and <br />an addition at 6910 Wilson Mills Road. <br />Board of Anneals - There was no meeting. There is no report. <br />Cemeterv - There was no meeting. There is no report. <br />Citizen's Advisory Committee - There was no meeting. There is no report. <br />Commission on Aging - Mrs. Kalina reported that the Commission members worked very hard <br />helping to get the party together, setting up, serving and cleaning up. <br />Drainage & Infrastructure/Stormwater Mgt. - Mrs. Cinco is happy to report that all projects <br />are now completed. There will be an article in the Voice of the Village. We will be refining our <br />requirements to this program. Mayor Rinker added that it is not a bad idea for us to consider that <br />this is a bit of a course correction. We have had probably three or four years of what we <br />formally identified as this committee and yet itself was the culmination of many years of our <br />trying to address the kinds of problems that typically will involve a handful of neighbors caught
